"I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."
Which is oddly fitting for a Vladr thread.

Nice detective work! Even the font matching tools I tried didn't show that one.
Here's Aban Regular if bold is too thick: https://www.whatfontis.com/Aban-Regular-naghachian.font

Keep in mind this is mocking a user on the insular Atari VCS Supporters Facebook group who accused @ColecoJoe of being @Tommy Tallarico(TT). It's not really about TT:

This stuff was basic on the Xbox 360 dashboard, but these rocket surgeons can't pull it off? The whole point of a set top box is convenience, and they can't even get that right.
I saw that rumor in the Register article. They thought I was crazy when--toward the end of the IGG campaign--I laid out why Atari wasn't going to do multimedia apps.
Who's laughing now? WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!?

2 minutes ago, VladR said:Oh, he is having a swell day, he already cursed me out in the other thread to be "dumbfuck shitwad" or similar (don't exactly recall the quad-curse combo, it sounded so -hmmm- Australian)
So swell, in fact, that he actually thinks I forgot the clusterf*ck threads where your game was ripped to shreds and:
- they were spinning dozen different sub-threads within main thread to divert attention and create confusion
- they were constantly victim-blaming and taking stuff out of context disproportionately
- they were judging you for personal preference choices (aka "How dare you like blue ! That's not a color!")
- and, best of all, all of that was masked as "we only want best for the customer", like anybody was going to fall for that
Those threads were, literally, a textbook example on behavior of sociopaths, psychopaths and malignant narcissists. Truly best of the best
Anything wrong you did, was outclassed, easily by a factor of 100:1, by whatever crap they started spinning and feeding each other.
But, luckily, we were all there, and can form our own opinion, regardless on how much spin he tries, and tries, and constantly tries to put on it
I'm sure some clown will step in and start furiously spinning the same crap, only to confirm my point. Please, by all means, do
He's got nothing to record, guys.

Anyone who questioned Rob Wyatt's motivations to speak about Atari, please pick up your prize at the front desk:

Pretty bold for him to list working with Atari on the Kickstarter. 😂

Oh I think Faith may be fitting if Atari is like a bad girlfriend:

49 minutes ago, The Historian said:The sub-reddit drama has been over hyped by everyone who reported on it. The Official Account removed 1 thread and banned one user. It wasn’t until they set up their "Official" subreddit that they went on a banning and deleting binge.
I'm sure you'll recall that they also started threatening other users with banning.
But sure: Technically they only did that much.

If you want to know who I use as reliable sources, usually it's SpawnWave and RGT85 and ReviewTechUSA-- all really good guys. o u o
Yeah, my mistake. I was referring to your question about Wyatt going to ElReg instead of other places. I should've double-checked before putting quotes. Apologies!

Yeah, I think he removed that and possibly more about the financials. Someone on Twitter asked him specifically about profits and number of employees, then later put up a screenshot from the financial report showing twenty employees, profit, etc.
24 minutes ago, Lodmot said:My point is, do we know for a fact that they're a reliable source of factual information, and they're not just trying to stir up the drama?
So far they are a better source of information than the "reliable" places you like. So much so, some of those have been quoting ElReg lately!

The only thing in this thread even moderately resembling something like Road Rash is @VladR's tall tales.
We're currently stuck on the snowy track, even with our Jeep. Will the Pacific Highway track be next?

I wondered that too. I think he's since edited that out; at least I can't find it anymore: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/10/08/atari_architect_quits/

15 minutes ago, JaqenHghar said:I know the answer is likely that I'm looking for reason where there is none, but what's this "6 month absence BEFORE quitting" comment about? I've not seen anything of that sort reported. The "6 month absence" I saw reported was a 6 month absence of payment by Atari, not a 6 month absence of work by Wyatt. Did I miss something?
I think it's rampant speculation and a convenient scapegoat for delays.
Tin Giant has 4 employees. I doubt more than two are paid to sit around and remind Wyatt to pull his hands out of his pants. So, maybe work could progress even while he had some downtime. He was well enough by June to be in a seedy Atari hotel room across from CGE.
This is like trying to figure out which is the cleanest pig in the pen. They're all muddy. Wyatt is problematic. Atari is problematic. Using the term "problematic" is problematic. There are no heroes here.

Don't be like me and forget AtariArtist is the "AtariAge Magazine" dude, Montgomery "Monty" Gabrys. 🤣
Monty might be broken-clock right about Wyatt leaving, but just over a year ago he did a sexy four-page copy-paste about Wyatt and Tin Giant in his very first "'zine" issue. Literally just a copy-paste of the Medium.com Q&A:
You can find the magazines archived over here, but be warned: Clicking on them might nudge the readership there from double-digits to triple!

They're throwing Rob Wyatt under the bus for non-delivery, which certainly lines up with what we could reasonably expect from him, when looking at his public persona and recent behavior.
Inasmuch as it'd be fun to dance on the shambling corpse wearing Atari's skin, I'd like to think that we at least try to look at it honestly. Wyatt is no saint, and we were happy to point that out back when he was the Atari rock star (my, how quickly pigeons forget). OTOH, Atari has been completely awful throughout this whole ordeal. Neither are heroes, and I'm not sure either can be trusted completely.
Which is why tacos are a still a better use of money than NuTari.

I just posted "December is still a go" for illustrative purposes only, but nice comparison!
It's amazing that the backers don't have torches and pitchforks in hand.

I only glanced at the IGN article yesterday, thinking they'd have nothing new to offer. It seems I was mistaken, as they got an Atari response. Atari says they are continuing on schedule, so that means December is still a go!
Quote
In a statement to IGN, an Atari spokesperson says the Atari VCS is still on track: "The Atari VCS is proceeding according to its previously announced schedule." Atari also says updates on the project can be found on Medium.
In regards to Wyatt's claims of unpaid invoices, Atari issued the following statement: "It is Atari's policy not to comment on an isolated matter under dispute, only to say that the Atari VCS project has always been a team effort and its success has never been and will never be dependent on any single individual or partner."-

I was wrong. I bet on the wrong horse. I really was hoping for several new projects from Atari to do well. Rose colored glasses, believed the good news and ignored the warnings. Im sure you guys will be happy to hear Ive paid dearly and lost a ton.
Just received 100% confirmation- token is dead, the team is no longer. All the work scrapped and not being used. Verifiable email- but I cant say who because of NDA and respect to keep this person out of trouble.
Put that together with the high level board members / execs leaving and you can see the slo mo crash coming. Ugh.
Ten months later ...

New Atari Console that Ataribox?
