  1. Backers rejoice! The long silence is over. There's a new update on Indiegogo! Oh, it's just what we've been talking about. Antstream. Bah. But wait, there's also a Medium blog post! Bahhhh, more of the same. Although, they mention the special Atari VCS version of Antstream will have exclusive Atari games!!!111one!1! Oh, and there's this:
  2. A long time ago in a board far, far away for manufactured distractions like this we used to say, "Hey look, a bunny!" I forgot my greater point, but hey, look, a bunny:
  3. Available on just about everything for $7.99/month. I guess the big news with Atari would be Linux support. https://antstream.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360002004978-FAQs-What-devices-can-I-play-Antstream-Arcade-on-
  4. If one joins a forum solely to critique grammar, perhaps said grammarian should not make a dozen grammatical errors in his (or her) response. Capitalization is not a myth; small numbers should be spelled. And said writer absolutely should not mix the English language with programming operators. In other news, I'm fascinated that this handheld exists.
  5. Come down off the ledge, John Phelan. You can still love old Atari and all your old stuff.
  6. The Innenets tell me a cargo ship takes two weeks to a month to go from China to USA. That's not even including associated extra time needed: December's closing in, and as far as we know:
  7. A Kieren McCarthy retweet: Not tweeted, but obligatory:
  8. Neat, indeed, but there are already at least three threads on the article:
  9. Atari is still deleting Reddit threads like mad, but they haven't touched a single post in the Register one -- no matter how bad. Not saying they're not within their rights to delete some threads, but I find the juxtaposition interesting. Honeypot? Or recognize the optics of deleting that particular thread? Also, Atari released their market research for their products:
  10. I tried to message you a link but couldn't. I found a months-old Twitter thread of some teenagers indirectly mocking that Mario username for the exact same ranting style--even Namco-related. The dude has issues.
  11. Yeah. Honestly, Indie devs are a dime-a-dozen so they don't need to care. There's a guy on Reddit who complained so much about Atari not responding to his emails about publishing a game, I figured it must be ole Biffster. Sorry for the blow to the ego, @Lodmot, but if they treat Llamasoft like crap they're not going to bend over backwards for some small-time developer. Your game would need to be really awesome. But if it was, why would you limit your sales to just one platform?
  12. Somebody in the Register comments posted this Dilbert comic. Passes the smell test:
  13. UberStrategist handles PR and "[r]etainers typically range from $5,000 to $15,000 a month". Time for Atari to fire up the lawsuit machine!
  14. I used PSP for many years, then moved to Photoshop eight or ten years ago. Recently needed to update some artwork for Songbird that was the in PSP format. I was surprised to find it could read both Adobe PDF and PSD files. They still offer a free, 30 day and fully-functional trial: https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/free-trials/
  15. Not games, but great deal ($25 total) on Corel software, including PaintShopPro Ultimate and Pinnacle Studio 23 Ultimate: https://www.humblebundle.com/software/painter-create-with-confidence
  16. We can design it as a community and call it crowdsourcing. What could go wrong? I'll start by giving it a nice bright color and lots of chrome. Power button is accessed by tilting up the ornament, 60s-Batman style. Bright buttons so we can easily see them.
  17. The news spreads. WhereThePDivides, you can pick up your free tacos at the front desk: https://www.pcgamesn.com/atari-vcs-update-2019
  18. Ah, yes. Microtransactions. There are a lot of awesome people on this board, but I'm not buying any single one of you a $25 taco. 😂
  19. I think people tend to go "hair on fire" with changes like these, and we'll find later it not be so bad. Al sounds reluctant to implement ads, so we can take that as a positive sign. While I run an ad-blocker, the best way to get me to turn it off is good content. For example: I just disabled it on The Register's whole site, because of their sadly-unique coverage of a certain taco-related console. I believe it was @Flojomojo who once longed for a way to donate subscription money to others for great posts. I'm not sure if a "buy beer" (/taco?) option is feasible, but maybe it would help?
  20. Reading it nearly brought a tear to my eye, and I truly believe it's because of this rather than the content itself. It shouldn't feel refreshing; it should be status-quo.
  21. My intention was never to derail the thread. It was to point out the absurdity of a statement in a thread where the fanboysim has gotten a bit fanatic (OP, case-in-point). I think there may be a lot of good things yet to come from the Amico front. I, personally, am curious about the controllers and how they'll interact with the games.
  22. That's @Max Ivi, who I believe left this thread of his own volition after some goofy prediction that I can't recall. Google buying Atari, maybe?
