Is it Speakerhat compatible?

@Flojomojo, perhaps these would interest you? For example:
-
"Unconsole" company who doesn't want to be referred to as retro constantly brings up original company's retro console.
-
Do you mean Intellivision? Or did I miss a Coleco announcement?

If I'm reading things right, the lawyers at least pay for themselves if not bring in money: Well, if Feargal Mac or Reynal or others wouldn't have sued: As always, let me know if I missed or misread anything.

Having to find save points is really annoying. I know later I'll be able to build a save point machine, but I'm not there yet. I've crashed twice on PC after doing a fair amount of exploring and gathering each time.

Sound familiar? And we're only halfway through the story of the Dragonfly Futurefön. SPLIT SCREEN: The crowdfunded phone of the future was a multimillion-dollar scam NOTE: The above quotes are only slightly edited for name redactions and brevity, but otherwise unaltered.

I finally bought the game this morning. On sale for about $26 at GreenManGaming (with code). $30 at Steam. On sale for Xbox and PS too. Still think they did wrong leading up to the launch. But, I'm pretty certain other companies would've done that and charged for some of these major updates.

Atari Jaguar fan site frozen in time since 2000
PlaysWithWolves replied to sirlynxalot's topic in Atari Jaguar
It was down for me yesterday, then today partially up. Then completely back up on a refresh. What's the AtariAge version of slashdotted? -
I was wondering yesterday if there could be an Ewok Line for the E.T. game. I was 14 in 1982 and did enjoy the movie itself. Pretty much loved almost anything science fiction or fantasy and it wasn't always space lasers. But I still think it was too much pit-falling.
-
By "standards", I meant the general consensus at the time. Should E.T. be judged by the general consensus at the time? Or by today's ability to look back and appreciate the special bits we've all come to take for granted in games now? And if it's the latter, does that mean I have to watch the Star Wars Prequels again? Because I don't wanna, and I hear they're really underrated.

Interesting little $400 build in that thread. Granted, it's DIY and not everyone's about that:

All those words, when you could've just typed "I agree completely".😏 Despite my coincidental use of "RTFM", my comment wasn't directed toward you directly; rather it was for those who argue that very point. But even if I had read ithe manual and just don't recall, at age ~14 I had more-enjoyable games to play than "ET Falls Down a Hole". Perhaps the real question is if it should be judged by today's standards or by yesteryear's?
-
Most of the disdain is directed toward the scummy, sue-happy IP holders who should've been made to at least productive a real prototype before getting free money. I think many here like the case design. Or at least the initial design which got changed when reality started creeping in. Stupid reality.

I wish my memory was so good that I could recall reading specific game manuals 35-40 years ago. 🙁 I was a voracious reader but sure don't remember reading Adventure's manual despite beating it many times. For all I know I even read the ET manual (I actually read the book adaptation back then). Oh well. Maybe I just didn't enjoy the initial experience enough to seek out the manual for more info? Or perhaps I did and couldn't cognitively get past the head-pit nonsense? Image from the "fixed" ET site. Still, I agree there are likely worse.
-
Most VCS games were intuitive; ET was not. That, and a pseudo-3D environment where the top of ET's head makes him fall into pits, or falling in one the moment he enters a new screen, helped it be called a bad game. Some 37 years later, it's easy and arguably a little revisionist to say RTFM. I'm glad you folks enjoyed it, though. As a grown-up child, I appreciate the game's depth more (from what I've read). I doubt it was the worst even on its own system, though none come to mind. I remember buying some brand new $1 games that weren't fun.

Who knows if it spills over to the Ataribox but an April 15 presser says they're doing mobile games based on Asteroids, Fatal Run and Submarine Commander:

The natives are restless in this thread but exciting stuff is coming! I'm glad they made it home safely from their all-expenses-paid China vacation. Also, good luck to the new CRM! I had to google that acronym, because the first thing I want to hear from a new CRM is that everyone's supposed to know what the heck a CRM is. A+ communication skills at work.

How will we ever know what the Collector's Edition certificate looks like since nobody will open the box?
-
How did we miss this on our own board? Atari SA sold complete game rights to @PikoInteractive without informing Piko that royalties would be owed to Jon Ritman: They went on to exchange ways to contact each other, so I don't know what happened from there. At any rate, ATARI SA's dimwitted move inspired me to create the AtariAsshat: You know you want one. A big 'hat tip' to @Flojomojo for the logo.

Prototype confirmed?
-
Well like @Flojomojo wrote, we don't really know what's going on behind the scenes for hardware. But like @JBerel put, we kind of do. If they had a working prototype inside one of the five (?) empty console shells on the table, it'd be the only one on the table and there'd be no question it would be running the monitor's video. Why not? It'd give them something to brag about and possibly grab more sales. They might have even invited their worst skeptics, like The Register, because they could get good press. Michael Artz would have to swallow his pride to invite them, but who doesn't like a good "told-you-so"? It should be noted Atari penned in their latest post that the press had hands-on time with "key Atari VCS system features and final pre-production hardware units." We do know PowerA has been working on the controllers. Those seem to actually exist and work in some form or another. To my earlier point about the prototypes, Atari didn't just have some XBox controllers there: they had the actual ready-for-production prototypes. Atari wanted us to know they made progress. There also seems to be at least a partially-working O/S and we're told a "pixel perfect flawless" 2600 emulator.
