  1. I wish I had the skills to design a game system "if I get bored".
  2. I take it the Portland expo was uneventful?
  3. I thought along similar lines. Bonus points if they could secure NUON licensing and add that too.
  4. Kennedy only mentioned the cartridge converters a couple weeks before the campaign (Sept. 2nd, I believe); but before that he'd been saying how key FPGA was to the system for months (beginning April or May). Sure, it wasn't for playing classic games; just an easier way for developers to port to the RVGS console.
  5. I'd say the emperor wears no clothes, but it's more like the clothes wear no emperor.
  6. True, but could well be the reason for the persistent rumors of EA titles on the Jag. "I read somewhere that EA was going to ..."
  7. For whatever it's worth: In looking at the AtariArchive link again, it seems it was Simon Kirrane who was written to and wrote back. Possibly this guy, though the "GamesMaster" years are suspiciously blank: https://www.linkedin.com/in/simonkirrane https://twitter.com/simonkirrane
  8. (Thank you) - You're right: GamesMaster #27, pp 8. I can't find a complete scan of #27, but there was a Usenet conversation published by an online mag at the time that specifies which issue and makes direct quotes. I didn't want to copy the whole exchange over here, so I'm sticking to just the highlights. Here's apparently what the article said: It sounds like people didn't believe the person who posted that, so he emailed the GM editor. Here's the editor's reply:
  9. I thought I'd do a little sleuthing. I couldn't find a copy of the actual mag, but it seems an issue of UK mag GamesMaster wrote of EA wanting to bring over several titles. I'm guessing it's issue #25.
  10. FYI: I added his translucent red to my previous post. Some people seem to really like it. I'm not sure what art style it might be -- Retrofuturism, maybe?
  11. I don't mean Kennedy any ill will and certainly more shell alternatives are a fun thing for people. I wonder what shade of red he's referring to? Or if he's considering a translucent red? Before I realized his classic gaming color scheme, I proposed alternatives with the mind of keeping the black bottom for cost savings. He may have something else in mind, or even the Mario red from the proposed RVGS. But, for whatever its worth, here's a repost of my Photoshop and his Mario-esque Legend and translucent red renders:
  12. Laser Razor is currently funded at 112%. As someone noted before, they only had a $160,000 funding goal.
  13. Forget cartridge collecting. Console case collecting is where it's at.
  14. BTW, Kennedy is considering doing a run of red Jaguar console tops for anyone who may be interested.
  15. The standard American door height is 80 inches, or 203.2cm. And FWiW, that looks like a hotel bathroom to me.
  16. I had no luck finding that one either, but I did find a 76-blade one! The Trac LXXVI Razor from Mad Magazine "Seventy-six cutting edges … wrap around an entire face and shave it close and clean in two or three effortless moves." The post also quotes another MAD invention, though not with a scan: "battery-powered shaver produces 'a high-frequency electromagnetic ray [that] instantly withers hairs and reduces them to ash.'"
  17. Ahhh... I'd seen that Laser Razor back when there were still some Early Birds. My Wolfie-sense started tingling, even though the temptation was there. If the IGG campaign even nets $1,000,000, IGG itself is looking at a nice boost in interest revenue. My mind asplodes with the comparisons. They even have at least one guy in the biz for three decades. I'd make a comparison chart between the two projects if I wasn't so lazy and didn't feel like being told it was "douchebaggery". But mostly it's the laziness. Mind you, I'm not saying the RVGS crew are scammers but just showing why it appeared fishy. I was intrigued (if not excited) by RVGS and tried to maintain neutrality up until Day One of the IGG campaign.
  18. We can always count on him to liven up the thread.
