  2. Hi. Its 2 layers. With enough time it can be hand wired back to normal. Time is hard to find! Best of luck
  3. Hi. Thanks Great Information! what speed should I be looking for?? Thanks
  4. Thank you dear sir!! I really appreciate you ringing in!! in my minds eye I think I have to start in slot one...but your equates make perfect sense!! I have all the /S0 to /S5 wires comming of the LS42... I hadn't realized the ram inhibit from the cartridges!!! I realize now those signals come from the ls32 ... Ill make those changes tomorrow. I realize all this has been done before proper ..Its just my hobby, and I really enjoy the journey!! thanks again Claus!!!
  5. Rybags, Thank you for your help!! looks like the Late R/W did the trick!! Dr. Venkman, Mr Micheal 1088XEL work is amazing! thanks for the link. His Schematics are a big help!! I will connect /OE to inverted Late R/W. right know I have it tied low in hopes the /CE timing is "good enough" LOL! so here is what I did today... /OE to GND S0 to /CE 8k is recognized!!! S0 AND'ed with S1 to /CE (with 74LS11 AND gate) 16K!! SO AND S1 AND S2 24K S0 AND S1 AND S2 to the next AND gate AND S3 and S4 40k...(I skipped 32K) Tomorrow I will Invert Late R/W to /OE and figure out the logic for bank switching...is it better to have 8k Banks or 16 k banks?? what is more useful?
  6. Hello, Today I had some free time and began making a Static 512k Ram Card for my Atari 800. (shits and giggles! every real expansion has already been made by smart people!) LOL! SO!!! Data Bus D0-D7 Address Bus A0 to A12 (8K for testing) So my question is..... R/W should go to Early r/w or late r/w?? or condition it with?? /CE to S0 (for 8k, for testing) eventualy S0-S5 AND'ed for 48k /OE where should it go?? Condition it with?? Later Ill add a data latch for memory banking.. Thanks In Advance!!
  7. 100% agreed!!! 1088 must be a good enjoyment!!
  8. I love doing these mods. its the journey not the destination for me. beer and soldering iron!
  9. Hello commodoreguy79 Its a neat upgrage. I did it a long time ago when I was young and dumb. It worked..Kind of..now im old and dumb I realized now,I didn't use pull up resistors on the PIA....(1200xl). I also did to my 800. I recently found the board.(picture below) Please post your progress!! im curious about what brand and speed simm works on this upgrade!! Thanks!
  10. Theres a lot of things I need Bob, but the only important one is to thank you for your knowledge and generosity sir!!
  11. Disregard...I connected a small light bulb as a load to the 5v rail.. and went right down to 5v from 11ish Thanks!!!
  12. I should finish my sentences... Any clue where I should be looking???
  13. 203Hello all, I modified my 800 so long ago I dont remember what I did..anyways i want to restore it back and i took it apart ,checked the power supply and I'm getting 11.8v on the 5v rail...is that normal with no load?? I lifted R203 and I get 5 volts. 12v reg is fine. R3203 is 33 ohms and it's fine too..I dont want to find out the hard way that its wrong... lol Thanks in advance!
  14. hahaha! CLAUS you have influence on this!!! i know i read your article and ran with it!!! If i remember correctly...yes!..16k banks and I split the PIA address space and used it for bank select...you can see the 373 select line hanging off the board, it went to other decoding inside the 800 ('138???) i didnt open it yet..... again..just for shits and giggles. I would love to replicate this setup with static ram...may I reach out to you for technical advise sir??
  15. Yup it worked. when i do these things its just for fun. i dont have any diagrams. there was also modifications to the mother board , thats not shown. but i will re build it and post the schematics.
  16. I totally forgot I did this a long time ago...1 meg dynamic ram (dont ask me what scheme) and a IDE interface for my 800... you can just see the decoded address being intercepted from the other 2 slots
  17. Hi All, what access speed should I be looking at?? I've always wanted to build a eprom programmer for the 800...for shits and giggles!
  18. You don't need skill cause you have balls!! and with the help of all these good & smart guys & gals here, You'll have it working in no time flat!! Cheers!!
