For some reason I can't find this anywhere. I'm looking for the Silver Label version of Asteroids. I'm willing to pay $ or trade. This is the last game I need to complete my silver label collection. For some reason it was easier for me to find quadrun than this game.

When I got the cart in the mail the end label had blue lettering instead of red like most silver label carts. Is this common or did someone re-glue a blue end lable from the picture cart edition?

Yeah, either Missile Command should boot up when no game is inserted and without the keyboard inserted or a memory test screen (or maybe its just a prompt, i forget) should boot up if the keyboard is attatched. A black screen most likely means something more serious. But thats about the extent of my knowledge on it. Sorry, wish I could be more help.

Although I was only getting the blank screen when I tried to play a cartridge. If you turn it on without a game in it, then Missile Command or a memory test (if the keyboard is attached) should boot up. Missile Command is built in to the XEGS. If nothing is happening then there is most likely another problem.

I bought one froM a flea market a few years ago for $10. I had the same issue. For me, the contacts just needed a good cleaning.

Ive never been big into collecting manuals with my games unless it was just thrown in. I only have a few CIB and sealed 2600 games. However I recently got an opportunity to buy the manual for Mr. Do's Castle to go with my game. Mt question is this: How much do manuals alone raise the value of a game? Does it just depend on the game? Are they worth investing in? If so, how much should someone look to spend on a manual alone?
