  1. Honestly, anything Atari related is underrated in my opinion nowadays, especially the Atari 2600. When I go into any retro game shop, I rarely see Atari games given the "love" that other systems have. What I mean by that is they aren't displayed like everything else. NES, SNES and Genesis games are almost always in a display case that's locked up. Atari 2600 games are usually scattered in some random container or box or shelf somewhere that aren't as visible or they don't even bother to carry the games at all. I remember walking into a store one time that had Atari games on the ground in a dirty beaten-up box. They were still all dusty and dirty, obviously the store owner didn't care to clean them up before they tried to sell them.

Plus new "retro gamers" these days usually don't even bother with the Atari 2600, they usually start with the NES or later, which is a huge shame because the Atari 2600 has some really good games.

It's really depressing seeing good Atari hardware and games just piling up dust

  2.

Nice! I wish there was a box for the Atari Falcon030 port of Cho Ren Sha, but since Atari never officially released their Falcon ports of their Jaguar games (Raiden, Dino Dudes), there is no box template I know of to use. Maybe you can design one? ;)

i don't even know how the boxes for Atari Falcon games looks like XD but i'm willng to give it a shot.

  3. Tell me this isn't one of the coolest things you've ever seen as a jag fan!

Fun fact: The only other cartridge Doom II has ever been on is Game Boy Advance. I think the Jaguar cart is a perfect fit for this game personally...it looks ominous!!

here's a bone for you my friend :D

  4. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the plain polygon look isn't the problem with Club Drive--it's the way the game handles hills and bumps. Instead of being smooth, it's so jerky it makes the player want to puke. This is something that should have been figured out and fixed prior to releasing. If this was smooth, the game would have played far better and would have actually been fun in single player (Tag Mode is still fun as-is, but that requires a second person).

that's my other problem with the game as well, the physics.

  5. The game is decent, not one of the better games for the system that's for sure but the music is decent and the graphics are somewhat adequate, but the most annoying problem with the game is how twitchy the control becomes once you're going too fast.

  6. I'd imaging it wouldn't be easy to port CD-i games as it was a powerful and complex machine in it's own right...but if the following games were ported I would sell mine

    -Burn Cycle

    -Chaos Control

    -Micro Machines

    -Mutant Rampage: Bodyslam

    -Tetris

    -The 7th Guest

    -The Apprentice

    -Voyeur

Many of these couldn't be done on the Jag because they required extra RAM via videopack. I always found the Jag FMV compared poorly to 3DO and CDi games...however the 2D ones like Micro Machines, Mutant Rampage, Tetris and The Apprentice could possibly translate well to the Jag.

Thanks for mentioning Micro Machines, that series seems to never get enough love. Oh you gave me a idea now...to do a mock-up box of micro machines for the jag :D

  7. Fantastic choices for soundtracks, Anthony. I love the Starwing music, especially the Corneria theme. It's one of my favourite pieces of music in gaming history. Fast-paced, and yet somehow atmospheric.

That's great that you got it at launch and got it repaired for free. I didn't get my SNES until the early 2000's, so I was a tad late. And I understand the mastery of the game. I used to be able to play Starwing without losing a life. Somehow I've gotten worse over the years, but hey, I don't mind. Go back to the 90's and say to anyone you had both a Genesis and SNES. It'll blow the mind of anyone in the time of the Sega/Nintendo console wars.

I really love Kirby Super Star's OST,just listen to songs like meta knight revenge.

  8. Well I was too old for the Jaguar when it came out. The 2600 was the system I grew up with.

I've played quite a bit of the 2600. Atari 800 too. I played even more Atari 800 games.

These days I don't have a lot of time to play games like I used to.

I sold many of the games I never played and used that to purchase the artwork. Which can get really darn expensive.

    It was a decision I don't regret.

I've had this name tag for a long time and sometimes your priorities will change. I've been collecting since the mid 1990s but I've slowed down A LOT.

If I had to name myself today I think it would say something about video game art. I've been able to track down and purchase hundreds of paintings covering many game systems from PC to TI99 to Atari and even newer systems like the Xbox etc.

Lately I've been taking a second look at the Jaguar in part because up till now I've mostly ignored it. it just wasn't a system with childhood memories attached to it.

Yeah owning some of the artwork has been another reason for that I think. Is that a bad thing?

Anyway. Here is one just for you.

I would faint of joy if you somehow have a Rayman painting in your collection.
