  1. Yeah sadly I bought the last one from best.. lucky for me. Those things are un repairable.
  2. Those boxes are a pain. I would do a power mod if you have the time
  3. Ensure you you use ground plane for ground I had tons of issues when I tried to localize the nearest ground. Such as bad colors and screen flip issues. Also the longer the connection to the GTIA the more issues.
  4. Got mine in. Love them both. I just wish there was at least a minimal continue on them and some music but in reality these are grea and i just turn on some dubstep that I find fitting. 10 year old me is way jelous.
  5. I do modding if you're looking. Just PM me if you're interested. Either way I hope it all pans out
  6. The power mod for the 4 port is easy to do. I do love my 2 port though.
  7. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/quickguide.htm They have a list of just about anything you'd need. It's a pita to navigate but I'm sure they have what you will need. Can even get a populated board for 35$. Can keep one as a parts board with future issues that may arise if you play the console alot.
  8. The lift and cable mod near the memory is normal. Try a new rf cable or swap the gtia chip out. I did have an issue like this but since I did the av mod I'm not sure what it was exactly. It had something to do with the RF modulator or its components. There was another one that had a flip flop issue near the power button. It wasn't powering the Cpu rail. And lastly I had another with a similar issue that u had to swap out memory chips to get it to work.
  9. The power issue might be a bad credit 7805 if not a loose cable connection. Easy solder fix.
  10. shows the interference most on top screen.
  11. You can set up mono 2 channel with stereo from tia as this attachment shows. Works well
  12. I am having issues with the ballblazer game. I've cut the base of q1 and q8. I have installed the tia switch. I've changed many variations of esound and I've tried 2 different carts. There is always a fluctuations on the screen. This is the only game that has these issues. I do have the LHE Mod I installed. It works great otherwise. I can't for the life of me find anything on Google that addresses this. I will have a link up of a video of it later
  13. That would let me utilize the unused pins on my snes multiout adaptor in the future.
  14. Did you get any luck with this?
  15. You would have to have more description to that problem.
  16. On several 2 port models I've had issues like this it was either a memory chip or the RF unit itself. The 7805 takes 14v to 9v /dependant on power plug/ makes it 5c. that is supposed to be 5v output on the 7805s. Another issue can be the flip flop chip if it's not powering both voltage rails. It's cheap 4013 chip near the power switch but 2 ports it's not socketed. I know the RF box sometimes gets bad solder joints but I don't mess with them much since I AV mod them. Another issue can be
  17. If you can use another power jack. 9v 1amp will work center positive see if the power brick is acting up. If you could I would jumper a secondary RF modular unit to see if that's the issue. Without looking at it and with limited knowledge since I have yet to experience this that's about what I'd do before I would just do video mod and see if it still exsisted. I would also check with a second GTIA chip or possibly one of the capasitors in the power to video circuit between the GTIA and the RF modulator. Good luck
  18. Is it a 4 port? I do alot of svideo mods and haven't seen this before. The RF on a 4 port might have some sort of interference if the box is going bad.
  19. I'm interested I hope you keep an update on how this works out
  20. The answer if anyone wants to know is yes. The TIA chip sound output was shot. Swapped it out and have my mixed stereo mono switch working. It's pretty sick now
  21. I have completed the Long horn svideo mod successfully and moved on the sound. The audio had left channel issues it seemed since the RF but not as bad as now it seems. I tried the mono to the LH board but still had issues even with adding the resistors to the requested board tie in. So I figured I would to a switch mod for full stereo and two channel mono when needed. On my first try pin 12 worked okay but was lower volume then 13 or right channel. So I attempted to remove from the 104 caps of pin 12 the left hand side to a 10uf 16v pos out to audio portion. I was hoping to at least remove the static from the line. However it made the line drop down even more. Right channel works perfectly however left is way low and more distorted even after going back to the 104 cap. Is there anything else to try or is it possible my TIA is gone or going?
  22. Both require sync. I would see if the local goodwill has a Vcr to test the svideo to be 100%. If you haven't I would think about re flowing the ic chip leads on the mod board. It is a low chance bit it could be cable or tv issues. I know some TVs have issues when I do RGB mods on other consoles. I've only had interference when I had the Y had a stray wire touch the audio of consol side of my mods on the 5200.
