Hi. I've got a tutorial on STinG online: Click here! Don't know about possible additional stuff on the netusbee. Take care about the tabs.
-
I have both, so I would be amazed in both cases...
-
Hi. Don't tell me that without having played Crown of Creation.

I had stability issues running GhostLink at 115200 serial speed on my Falcon, set it to 57600, and it was running absolutely stable since then. Now I'm using an Ethernec for networking which lets me leave the serial port unused.
-
This differs between the series. ST: 19200 STe: 38400 Mega/STe on Serial2: 115200 Falcon on modem2: 115200 TT on Serial2 (depending on the chip it is equipped with): up to 230400, else 115200. HSMODEM does not speed things up, it just provides routines which behave much more stable than the original ones.

And what on your Falcon if it should run?
-
Might be this one.
-
It's a Sparrow board, not a Falcon one. The Sparrow is a prototype of what later became the Falcon.
-
If you look at pictures seven and one you might be able to imagine it's the step between 1040 STe and Falcon. The board which seems to be the development board has some looks of a 1040 STe (pic 7), and the prototype looks very much like a Falcon (pic 1).

Floppy disk memory too small to fit games on them
jens replied to borntorun's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
You can take ID1 floppy drives and use a twisted floppy drive cable to get around the need to solder them to ID0. -
Anyone with Atari TT in Northern California?
jens replied to tenox's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Caterpiggle: You'll have to find a SCSI2IDE converter that your TT will like, then it will just be a matter of using your hard disk driver. I'd think that on atari-forum there should be more overall experience on this topic. -
Hi. I've got a Spectre GCR as well, but never tried it out. I think you could use Macintosh System 6, maybe 7, and iirc the TT is the most advanced Atari you could use it with. I'm quite certain about System 6, but uncertain about the rest.

Transferring data is fine (but slow) through serial line. I disassembled one of ST-Book to exchange the hard disk for a bigger one, so I could use it as one partition and install HdDriver.

Quick Question, Booting Mega with Teradesk and NVDI
jens replied to 8bitguy1's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Nvdi will change the system font, but not any other programs' setups. Could you by accident have saved Teradesks deskinfo while having an A: window opened? -
The position of the hard drive is just like in a Falcon. The monitor plug indicates the ST though.

Digital music on regular Atari ST (again)

Yeah, sounds really great. Good work again. :-) Thanks, guys! -
Word Processing on ST to publish on Windows
jens replied to 8bitguy1's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Tempus Word NG will work just fine as long as you're not printing. As you said you want to transfer the files to a pc I assumed you don't need to print from your Atari. -
How to center ST video on a LCD monitor?
jens replied to DarkLord's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Read the full thread, Jens, read the full thread! Hi DarkLord. I think you really want to have to talk to beetle (user on Darkforce as well btw.) who had the issue of finding an LCD for his selfmade XL-portable as well. Iirc he talked to the seller who then adjusted the LCDs controller to fit beetle's needs. -
How to center ST video on a LCD monitor?
jens replied to DarkLord's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I think the point would be to find a 1280x800 monitor which doesn't interpolate too much. -
How to center ST video on a LCD monitor?
jens replied to DarkLord's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
There are some lcd TV's which provide accurate monochrome and colour pictures. I've seen some, but I don't remember the models as I'm not really interested using CRT monitors. Btw.: 640x400 is 16:10, so 16:9 should be too few if the monitor correctly displays the signal. -
Word Processing on ST to publish on Windows
jens replied to 8bitguy1's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
An easy way to have files which can be used on a PC afterwords would be to use Tempus Word NG or Papyrus, both featuring the RTF format. A four meg ST should be considered to be just enough for Tempus word. -
Hi 1. The PTC 1426 is a 640x480 VGA monitor per definition. It can switch to lower resolutions on TT and Falcon, but normally not to higher ones. It is possible to use it with TT overscan modes though (Overscan hardware required). 2. Yes. Falcon and TT do their internal flicker-fixing. 3. Some demos require an RGB monitor, so an SM1224 or similiar monitor will be fine. I believe you can also use the above mentioned C= 1084 for such stuff. I'm using VGA, full stop. There are some demos I'd like to watch, but until now I was too lazy to hook the Falcon up to my SM1224 with another adapter which is lying around at someplace in my flat or cellar. When you have a VGA for your Falcon, you might use an RGB monitor additionally, but you will not be obliged to have an extra SM124. An SM124 in my opinion would only make sense if you don't have a VGA monitor and want to use ST-high, e.g. for a nice Cubase picture or such. I remember using ST-high (and other higher Falcon modes) on that C= monitor, and it was flickering like hell. Can't recommend doing so. I got me a VGA as soon as possible.
-
Hi. Welcome in the world of Falcon users. But don't believe in rubbish! There are two possible adapters for the Falcon that it might come with, VGA and ST. With the Falcon VGA adapter you can use a VGA for all resolutions. What you won't be able to do is watch demos which rely on RGB. With the Falcon ST adapter you can use the typical range of ST monitors or a cable from ST to SCART. On SCART the Falcon will be able to use reasonable resolutions, at least that's what I experienced on an old C= 1084 monitor in 2000 or so. There is also this antenna/ composite/ tv /whatever plug which I never used. Well, certainly you can look at some ST demos on the Falcon, but I think it's more interesting to watch Falcon demos! Visit pouet.net to find the demos you like best! If any other questions pop up, just ask. :-)

Atari Mega 4 With Monitor and Keyboard
jens replied to AtariStudio's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Pictures would be nice, indeed. If possible try to find out which soundcards are fitted, and if not certain, list the auto-folder programs, which might hint some user to the models used.
