It occurred to me today that Pokémon GO is this generation's Tamagotchi. A simple little creature focused game that doesn't require any dedicated gaming system to play, fits in your pocket, is inexpensive, and somehow took the world by storm.

  I remember having one as a kid growing up in the 90's, though I don't remember much about it other than that the shell on mine was green and it was fun to play with. lol I suppose the biggest difference between Tamagotchi and Pokémon GO is that now 20 years later you can still play Tamagotchi, whereas I don't imagine Nintendo's Pokémon GO servers will still be up and running in 20 years time.
