  1. Using custom arcade sticks built with high quality real arcade parts to play games is a lot like smoking crack. Once you try it you can't go back to the weaker options, and before you know it you've spent a small fortune on something that everyone else seems to get by just fine without.

      Yeah, I know what you mean. It just gets tiresome when every time you think about buying a new system your next thought then becomes "Oh yeah, I'm going to need another $200+ controller for this." You feel awesome when you get your first high end custom arcade stick, but by the fourth one it starts getting tiresome on just about every level. Especially when propriety non-replaceable parts in them start breaking.

      Non of my stuff has any non-replaceable parts. Of course mine are stand up arcade cabinets with switches. I agree that it's pretty hard to go back to little tiny NES pads when you've played something standing up like in an arcade and can back away and go "WHOOOOO!"! Those people who are fine without stuff you can easily fix and will last forever will also often be playing on aftermarket pads that suck or always in a search for good original, expensive parts.
