  1. I got my brand new composite modded Atari 7800 in the mail from Video61 today! It has been wonderful finally getting to play Atari 7800 on real hardware, though after playing it via emulation for so long it was pretty startling to see how much more dull the colors look in games when played on real hardware. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. =)

Can't you adjust the TV settings to get a bit more vibrant colours?

Good call Carlsson! I fiddled around with the TV settings and found that by setting the picture mode on my WEGA Trinitron CRT to Standard then cranking the Color and Picture settings up to their maximum values the colors now look beautiful and vibrant for Atari 7800 games. Atari 2600 games played on the 7800 still look a little drab compared to how they look on my Light Sixer, but such was to be expected.

can always add the 820ohm resistor to the TIA if you want to boost the colors on 2600 games. Makes them look as good as a 6-switch unit then!
