No matter how many times I play it I never cease to be amazed by what an astounding game Summer Carnival '92: RECCA is on pretty much every level. It's a shame original copies are so darn expensive, since it's a game that every Famicom / NES owner should try at least once.

I was playing it last night. It's certainly impressive, but not really that fun to me. It doesn't let you breathe, I have a hard time keeping track of what's going on, I can't hold on to the weapons I want. Shooters like Zanac, GunNac, Crisis Force, Twin Cobra, Salamander are a lot more enjoyable to me.

RECCA is one of those games that really requires a lot of practice and memorization to get the hang of, especially when it comes to selecting the right weapon and option power-ups. Choosing the wrong ones or accidentally running into one you don't want will punish you faster than in any other shoot 'em up I know of. But that's what I like about it, the challenge (in addition to the "I can't believe this is running on the NES" graphics and killer music that is).
