  1. I went to replace the household's old broken Xbox 360 with a PS3 this week and was rather shocked when the game store sales rep informed me that most PS3 games can't be played off the disc and that the discs are just used to install games to the hard drive like on a computer. As you might have guessed I left without purchasing a PS3.

      Same with ps4 disc is just the installer and used to allow you to start the game but actually runs off the HD

      I guess I've been out of the loop when it comes to modern games for too long, but that still seems so weird and off putting to me. I was going to replace the broken Xbox 360 with a PS3 for the PlayStation exclusives like Ratchet & Clank, Okami HD, and Sly Cooper; but the whole thing about having to install games to the hard drive is unappealing enough that I'll probably just get another Xbox 360 to avoid all that business.

      Worse, don't most games require you to be online to play them and once respective game has been shut down, your games have turned into worthless plastic?
