  I'm being completely serious here, what was the first 3D flying game you ever played? For me it was the PC-DOS version of Descent.

  Does Afterburner count? Probably that, in a local restaurant that had a little arcade in the back. Otherwise I dunno--Flight Unlimited? TIE Fighter?

  I think I had a Descent demo that came with my original PS, Earlier though, I'd say Atari's Red Baron or Cinematronic's Star Hawk (although you didn't control the flight path)...In the arcades.
