This week 44 people lost their lives due to flooding in Texas, while in the same week more than 1,200 people have died from flooding across South Asia. It's weird how we as a society focus our priorities.

  Please note that I do not intend to trivialize the loss of life in Texas in any way. It's definitely a tragedy on a national scale, there might just be other counties more in need of disaster relief than us right now.
