  For the sake of clarification when I asked the question it was with the idea that you would stay exactly the same as you are today. Same age, same knowledge, etc. You would not replace yourself in the past if you were already alive in 1980, in fact you would probably have to avoid running into your former self to prevent paradoxical situations.

  The game console lineup for that year is awesome!! The Atari 2600, Intellivision, Channel F, Odyssey 2, Bally Astrocade, Pong consoles, and the Atari 8 bit computer line.

  It would be a good place to visit, but i wouldn't want to live there. I don't think I'd be entertained enough back then. Sure retro gaming is fun, but not as my only option. No internet, etc. Also, I would not want to get sick with the medical advances since then.
