  Another vote for PS1/N64 to Dreamcast/PS2. That generational jump was really special. Since then, there's been improvements to be sure, but nothing super impressive.

  2D to 3D, no contest here. Seeing the likes of Mario/Zelda in 3D or being able to play Ridge Racer or Tekken at home was a whole new era.
