  1. Some games just aren't that much fun without a second player... Ep 457: Air Sea Battle (Atari 2600)
  2. For pre-crash games, I think the 3D world of Tunnel Runner is very impressive: For post crash games I would go with Tomcat F-14 and California Games Granted, these all might use special chips or extra memory, I'm not sure, but they really pushed the system. Alas, I haven't played much Space Shuttle, so that could make my list too.
  3. Could this be a hidden gem for the NES? Ep 456: G.I. Joe (NES)
  4. Is it really as bad as they say? Time to find out... Ep 455: Karate (Atari 2600)
  5. Time for another Tomy Pocket Game Review: Circus Catcher
  6. Very Nice! Time to drop some bombs...and then some more bombs...and then some more... Ep 454: Mission X (Intellivision)
  7. I finally reviewed a title I've gotten several requests for. Ep 453: Phaser Patrol (2600 Supercharger)
  8. It's Space Invaders on the go!...kind of... Space Invasion Tomy Pocket Game
  9. Fun Fact: In less than 24 hours, the Atari VCS not only passed its goal of $100K, but also the original goal of the Retro VGS ($1.95 Million)

I'm with Keatah, it's really satisfying to see the pre-order campaign doing so well. All the trash talk about the project around here really rubbed me the wrong way, and I'm darn glad that the cynical and paranoid Atari fan community's opinions seem to be having zero impact whatsoever on the VCS's sales success.

I thought Keatah was being sarcastic.

  10. So this guys is selling three games shrink wrapped together as one bundle. Was this something the Mattel actually did? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-SEALED-3-pack-INTELLIVISION-TV-GAME-Space-Hawk-Horse-Racing-Soccer-/332668018369?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276
  11. Well I guess the Atari VCS raising almost $800,000 during the first hour, could bode well for this project too.
  12. I’m shocked. The Atari VCS has passed its goal and is on pace to raise around $1,000,000 in the first hour. Here’s a breakdown of the prices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne4QGP3_n5k

Beautiful marketing. Atari for the win!

Those tacos are looking pretty soggy by now, eh?

Eh. I wouldn't get so excited about the total. More backers will only mean more unhappy people looking in vain for a refund, if "Atari" cannot deliver (and so far, they haven't effectively demonstrated that they can).

  13. So I'm finally picking up on the fact that Tommy & Company seem to be targeting the Atari Box/VCS. Not only did Tommy state that the system would not be competing with modern systems nor stream Netflix (two things the Atari VCS is supposed to do), but the announcement came the day before the VCS indiegogo campaign and their Q & A is on May 31st, the day after. Maybe it's all a coincidence, but I could see the timing of everything taking some sales and headlines from the VCS. I'm hoping for a controller not only more comfortable than the original, but with the ability to work with the original systems too (crosses fingers).
  14. GET READY! Ep 452: Space Harrier II (Sega Genesis)
  15. After battling with cancer, Atari co-founder Ted Dabney has sadly passed away.

Indeed he was! He joined AtariAge in 2010 and was on and off periodically thereafter. Here is a welcome thread that I started, eight years and one month ago:

  16. Seems a lot of CIB Leanring Funs have been popping up lately. Even Venezuela is getting in on the action: https://www.ebay.com/itm/learning-fun-i-by-intv-for-intellivision-i-ii-iii-sylvania-ntsc-cib-very-rare/153037523077 https://www.ebay.com/itm/learning-fun-ii-by-intv-for-intellivision-i-ii-iii-sylvania-ntsc-cib-very-rare/153037530061 Just imagine if you bought one, but customs sliced up the box looking for drugs or such...

  21. The longer I watch the 1966 Batman TV series, the more purple Batman's cowl becomes...

I remember a Halloween special in which Adam West's cowl wasn't even tucked in at all, just flopping around. So distracting!

I actually seen the rope drop just before a scene gets cut while Batman and Robin are doing that climbing a wall shtick.

  24. Just in time for the next The Atari 2600 Game By Game Podcast! Ep 449: Atari Climber aka Climber 5 (Atari 2600 Homebrew)
  25. So I've been playing some Atari Climber on the Flashback 2 before Ferg covers Climber 5 on The Atari 2600 Game By Game Podcast. It got me wondering if there are any major differences between the two games. Does anyone know of any differences besides the names, the 5 on your back and the Atari Age logo being in Climber 5?
