That Rainbow Brite game actually looks pretty legit to me, though I've never watched the cartoon it's based on. Isn't that the game that PacManPlus was making for Coleco a while back?

Ah, I was right! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/266919-coleco-mini-return-official/ Given that PacManPlus made the Rainbow Brite game it's pretty safe to assume that it's going to be a really good game. As far as Robotech goes though, who knows.

I have a feeling this is going to make it incredibly hard to keep your "no swear gamer" title.

  13. You're welcome! I personally like original model, both for compatibility, and for the controllers, which I think are the best, or at least better than the II, imho. Nice story! When I got a 7800 in the late 80s, I was able to find 2600 games (never 7800 games) at garage sales, but by the time the Genesis come out, I stopped seeing them. In recent times I haven't seen them at garage sales, but a few years back, I did find some overpriced, loose commons at the Goodwill.

  16. Is yours modded by chance? This happened to me on my system with an AV mod. Sometimes modded systems need fine tuning for Commando, as I think it happened to Janitor Sean too. However, I had not problem playing it on a standard system.
  17. I like how you stack your games by rank! Neat! I'm also happy to see that the game is gaining some fans. When I covered it on the podcast, I recall it getting a lukewarm reception from listeners, but I've enjoyed the game since it first came out. I even had the Atarian Magazine with the codes in it, although I always memorized Bird Cane Bowl. Didn't care much for the 2600 version, though. I do think the game does a great job showing off how many sprites the 7800 could manage. I remember being VERY excited to play it on the first Flashback when it came out, but then being VERY disappointed in the end result. Just goes to show that the game would not work on a NES. If you haven't seen the Flashback version, here it is in my review of the FB system. Go to the 3:38 mark to see DF. I also think the music on the FB version was worse than the TIA 7800 music (Even though I wish they put the Pokey in the 7800, some of the programmers really knew how to push the TIA)
  18. BTW, you were totally right. I got all the games delivered, perfectly packed. I haven't had time to go through them all, but I already found a couple titles that I didn't realize I didn't have boxed, as well as a couple that a friend needed. I think this was the largest box of games I have ever purchased for any system. And I paid something like $0.30/pound when all was said and done! If I happen to find a painted cart or full color manual, I will count that as a bonus
  19. Ordering from Venezuela is a gamble, but at least some sites, like eBay offer some protection. One time I bought a massive lot of new, 2600 games. They got delivered in several small boxes, some pretty dirty, and about half the titles where missing and replaced with other titles. It seemed some of the more valuable titles had been replaces with cheaper titles, and some of the games appeared to be used, not new. The seller mostly ignored me, but eBay ended up giving me a refund. I ordered two other times from there, both times they were for individual games and both times everything came out well. The first time, it was actually off of amazon, and I didn't realize where it was coming from until after I placed the order. Due to my previous experience, I might not have placed the order if I knew where it was coming from, but I'm glad I did. Not only did I get the game I want, but in the Fed Ex envelope, the seller put the boxed game in this cool Zapper box to protect it during shipping! In the end, buying from there is definitely a YMMV deal, but you can find some nice deals if you are willing to wait and put up with the risk.
