This video made me geek-out, man.

  3. New Review of the original Double Dragon on the Sega Genesis

  4. I went with Basketbrawl, since I will need to play it soon for the podcast anyway.
  5. I look forward to when you can! For the Atari, my first guess would be a portable system with a second, very long-shot guess being a version with an actual cartridge port. The software twist intrigues me. I could see new licensed games (For instance, if AtGames worked a deal with EA, that could open the door to a large amount of titles), or I could see the addition of some games that could've been played with attachments such as the Power Base Converter, 32X or perhaps even the Sega CD. Since AtGames has already released Master System games on other devices, I could see some SMS titles included on the next line of Genesis devices as well. And of course, there is always the possibility of some Sega Arcade games...
  6. The two Genesis projects seem to be predictable (I'm guessing the similar PnP & portable systems, perhaps with new exclusives to replace Mortal Kombat 1-3). However, are you free to say what the second 2600 product will be? A portable perhaps? Thanks for taking the time answer all these questions. I wish there were more physical products, but I understand the economics of it don't always support new products, especially for the more obscure systems.
  7. If by "this", you mean the thread, nope! If by "this" you mean the podcast, its free to download and I don't get any revenue from the downloads nor do I have any paid advertisers. If i get any money from it, it would be from the ads in the YouTube version, which isn't anything to write home about. I think my last episode has made a whopping 28 cents and that is actually pretty high for an episode. I do have a Patreon account that is under my YouTube channel name that has some support that could cover minor expenses should they arise, but doesn't cover my total costs. So in the end I do this podcast because I wanted to give the 7800 its due in the podcasting world. And from what I understand, it is very rare for a podcaster to make any significant money off of what they do, especially covering retro games.
  8. I'm looking for feedback for the next episode of the Atari 7800 Game By Game Podcast (you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, YouTube or use this feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/78gbg ) What are your memories and/or thoughts on Mat Mania Challenge & Planet Smashers on the 7800? Also, how would you rate them? I use a system of 4 choices (From Best to Worst): Hall of Fame Game (Top 5 game on the system) Solid Game "Meh" Game Trash Game (Bottom 5 game on the system) These games will be covered on Episode 27 You can also e-mail text or audio to [email protected] If you get it in by Friday, it should make the show, but late submissions sometimes get squeezed in too, so send it even if it's late. Just keep it family friendly You can also send feedback on previously covered games or the system itself.

You should do Castilian for the NES to compare them. :)

  11. What can I say. I like Joust, but I'm not that good at it: 50,600
  12. Ep 26 covering F-14 Tomcat and Super Skateboardin' is now up on YouTube and iTunes. The next episode will cover Mat Mania Challenge and Planet Smashers
  13. New Review of Jinks for the 7800:

    1. Bryan

      Bryan

It really doesn't take advantage of Maria graphics at all. It looks like something the 800 could do pretty easily.

    2. Papa

      Papa

Yeah, for an alternative style Breakout clone I would recommend Off The Wall. I feel that it is better than Jinks. I was happy that you put it in your top ten 2600 games.

    3. Trebor

      Trebor

Crazy Brix FTW! Supports both joystick or Paddle controls - https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1004

  15. Barnyard Blaster Atari 7800 Review

  16. Finally got to listen! Glad to here Christian win for his great audio submission and Pie Factory was a great pick too. And I agree...that is one creepy robotic voice It'll be interesting to see what the next poddies hold. I think Willie would be a great host if he isn't too busy with his 20,000 other podcasts.
