  1. Figured I'd chime in with my Edladdin experience. In a word, his products are GREAT! I got a chance to play the Super Twin 78 controller with Robotron 2084 on the 7800 and it made a huge difference. I more than double not only my score, but my enjoyment of the game as well. I currently have a Supreme 78: All Play 4/8 and a Seagull 78 adapter. The arcade stick is a true premium. It is a very well built, solid arcade stick and really helps in 4 way games. The adapter really opens up a huge world of controller options, with my Sega Genesis 6 button controller now becoming one of my favorite ways to play 7800 games. I have also heard nothing but good comments from fellow 7800 gamers who bought some of Eds stuff after hearing about it on my show and others. Long story short: If you are a CV fan and are on the fence, you won't be disappointed once you finally add some Edladdin magic to your system!
  2. Yeah, but I don't think it was easily found in the pre internet days. I don't ever recall seeing one myself on store shelves. Yeah, says it on the back, but I'm sure many gamers didn't realize it at the time. Easy to overlook. Interesting thought about the camping out spot Actually 3! Shinto released one too! I was just saving your bacon from Hyde messing with the editing for overlooking him!
  3. Good question. The picture label was sold separately (Unless a store made the bundle themselves like a sams club) And it might have been possible that some late models of the 7800 where sold without a game, but still a puzzling choice to publish it on its own.
  4. Ep 25 covering Barnyard Blaster and Ikari Warriors is now up on YouTube and should be showing up in iTunes soon. The next episode will cover Super Skateboardin' and Tomcat F-14 Flight Simulator
  5. Actually I was thinking about holes in the original 58 game library, so even though I knew of Crystal Quest, I didn't include it. However, somehow I wasn't aware of Crazy Brix. It looks very interesting and it might end up being my first homebrew purchase! Oh, and good thought with the pinball game.
  6. Let's see: A good Breakout/Arkanoid style game (sorry Jinx) A good football game (sorry RSF) A ninja platformer in the same vein of Ninja Gaiden or Shinobi A strategy game of some sort Another Mario like platformer (we got Scrapyard Dog) Another Zelda like adventure game, maybe even a follow up to 2600 Adventure (we got Midnight Mutants and to a degree Dark Chambers) It would've also have been nice to have: More original games, such as what we saw at the end of the systems life Some games based on licensed products of the day (TV shows, Movies, Toys). We almost got Missing in Action. A better beat em up than Double Dragon And finally how about the following sequels: Ballblazer II Food Fight 2:Charlie Chuck Chucks Back Dig Dugger Ninja Hockey: A Ninja Golf Prequel
  7. Welcome Tartfox! I agree with what has been said: Get the Edladdin Seagull 78 adapter!!! Right now, I do not believe Possible Mission has Pokey, nor does it save scores. Standard 7800 games cannot save scores long term on the cartridges, however, I believe with the Atari Expansion Module, you can save high scores on some games: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/173454-7800-expansion-module-xm-hardware-game-details-31815/
  8. Comparing the original Atari 7800 version of Rampage with a graphically enhanced version by KevinMos3
  9. Thanks Willie! Actually I still have this one, but it would be a cool Retro Junk Box addition!
  10. I'm looking for feedback for the next episode of the Atari 7800 Game By Game Podcast (you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, YouTube or use this feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/78gbg ) What are your memories and/or thoughts on Barnyard Blaster & Ikari Warriors on the 7800? Also, how would you rate them? I use a system of 4 choices (From Best to Worst): Hall of Fame Game (Top 5 game on the system) Solid Game "Meh" Game Trash Game (Bottom 5 game on the system) These games will be covered on Episode 25 You can also e-mail text or audio to [email protected] If you get it in by Friday, it should make the show, but late submissions sometimes get squeezed in too, so send it even if it's late. Just keep it family friendly You can also send feedback on previously covered games or the system itself.

  13. A bit up in the air due to a crazy weekend. Friday night should guarantee it being included in the next episode, but later entries may still make it in. Worse case scenario, entries that arrive too late will just be included in the following episode.
