What did you buy today?.........

Was the guy just really looking to get rid if it or has CDZ stuff diminished in value since then? -
Buy a real nintendo instead...
Dashopepper replied to 0078265317's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I didn't like that crap movie either. And who cares about "stealing". Its about the absurdity of comparing buying it to buying a multicart or flashcart. But feel free to keep rambling on about the definition of stealing please... -
Buy a real nintendo instead...
Dashopepper replied to 0078265317's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I like how there's a well made system with a nice interface and 30 games for $60 and people are trying to compare it with STEALING the games. Hey by the way what's a better deal, getting the Force Awakens on Bluray for $20 or just downloading it on my computer for free? -
Do mods hurt the value of all retro systems?
Dashopepper replied to KWKBOX's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'd say for the most part and with very few exceptions mods add to the value of a system. I've never looked on ebay and thought, "man I should just get a modded one it would be cheaper!" -

What a complete trash article. The author must have zero knowledge of Ebay or retro gaming... and no common sense. "Poor bub and bob," what an idiot. -

I tried this game today and just got through the first mystery. Pretty cool game. The passcodes are extremely long though so its better to leave it on. My son bumped the genesis off the shelf and my character some how got stuck walking around in the background where he wasn't supposed to be. Had to reset, hence the passcode.

I'm a big fan of The Space Adventure. It's got a fun 80's Sci-Fi cheese with lots of violence and nudity as far as 16 bit games go.

Games worth getting a multitap for?
Dashopepper replied to KWKBOX's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I can second Super Strike V Ball for NES. Surprisingly fun. Also you can run two Advantage joysticks at the same time using the NES multitap. -
1. Buy the two sizes of gamebits, if you're into gaming you'll need them for everything. 2. If you have to look at your Gamegear from an extreme angel it needs caps. 3. Gamgears are cheep with lots of caps so it makes lots of good soldering practice. You don't need the best gear. It was one of my first time soldering projects and it's not extremely hard and I got a lot of confidence from it. 4. The picture will still pretty much suck

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Dashopepper replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Wavebirds are ok but i've gone back to using a regular wired one. I like the weight and rumble feature more. Plus the new smash brothers ones have 3 meter cords instead of the usual 2m ones. -
New Apple II Owner, advice-suggestions
Dashopepper replied to Dashopepper's topic in Apple II Computers
My 80 column extended card came in and works. I started a little Prince of Persia but am going to hold off until I get a joystick figured out. One game from my guide I'm interested in is called Amazon, based off the Michael Crichton Book/Movie Congo. But it looks like every file of it is a .nib and as far as I can figure that means it's stuck in emulation land. I played a little on my raspberry pi but I think I'll try to hold off and get my hands on the real thing. What percent chance does an average Apple II floppy have of still working today if I get it from Ebay? -
A couple weeks ago I found "The Book of Adventure Games II" at a thrift sore and got the computer gaming bug again. I have a pretty large video game collection but not much knowledge when it comes to vintage computers. The top result on Google is from AtariAge and like most posts here it pretty much does a complete 360 and ends with people disagreeing abut something off topic. But I figured an Apple IIe is what I'd most be interested in. After a week of looking on Craigslist I made an offer on one with a color monitor but it had sold. So I went for my second choice and made a low offer for it and ended up bringing it home for $100. I think I made the better choice as this one came with the serial to USB adapter and a box of new floppy disks. After a few days of a steep learning curve I figured out how to get ADT working and started making some disks (my serial card was in sot 4 and couldn't get it to transfer until I put it in slot 2). My first game I'm playing is from my guide, called "Critical Mass." I'm just about through it and having a lot of fun. It has an 80 column card so I bought a 64kb extended card from ebay for $9. I have a revision B board so from what I can tell it should work in my machine? Some questions I have are should I get a joystick and if so which one? Does it just plug in somewhere or is it another expansion card? What do you do with your ugly yellowed space bars? Can I just pop it off and spray paint it? Any recommended games or programs I should try out?

Is ebay really the best place to sell
Dashopepper replied to Seal4913's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I never know this pie chart thing existed, thanks for showing me. Now i'm more confused then ever that why some months im 12% and others im 10%. I only sell videogames and systems. The only thing that changes is sometimes I do free shipping, I take it that is what makes the difference? This month's eBay sales and fees Total monthly sales $185.55 Total monthly fees 11.65% Based on your monthly fees and credits totaling $21.61, your fees as percentage of your sales is 11.65% The formula I have in my spread sheet for how much I make on a Item with paypal and ebay and everything included is =(G355-((G355*0.1)+H355+(G355*0.029)+0.3)) with g355 being the total and H355 being the amount I actually pay on shipping. Something must be wrong because I apparently don't have the 4% for papal in there anywhere. I'll have to look into it *EDIT* According to http://finalfeecalculator.com/ebays calculator My formula is correct, I believe they use 3% paypal fee while I use 2.9% for some reason. Where are you guys getting 4% paypal fee from? -
Yea, who would want that gigantic super heavy duty molded travel case overflowing with two sizes of intricate screen overlays, game cards, poker chips, play money, and playing cards? So old and outdated! I would just emulate it, it takes up a lot less space that way. Makes my skin crawl just looking at the thing!

The SNES/Super Famicom discussion thread!
Dashopepper replied to Games Of Reference's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Im all about the SNES co-op games. Pocky and Rocky, King of Dragons, Goof Troop. And they say Run Sabre is a poor mans Strider, nope 2 player masterpiece for sure. Plus better versions of Sunset Riders and Doom Troopers. I think 16 bit was the perfect place between simplistic games before and bloated games after. -

Nintendo Classic Mini announced
Dashopepper replied to Atariboy's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'm amazed at the list of games. This thing is definitely not for me but it's exciting to see Nintendo show a new strategy. They are probably trying to get this thrown in with Pokemon Go in the news cycle to generate more interest. It's the first smart marketing move I've seen them make in awhile.
