You better check yourself before you wreck yourself! "At least I wasn't last???" "Embarrassing slot???" You are lacking a serious sense of pride about being picked where we were! I may be new around here, but I know one thing. It is embarrassing for you not being picked last! You are just jealous because I was! Change your username to "classicembarrassingslot_27330" and go get picked #1! Then talk to me about embarrassing!

I dug out my Atari 7800 and all of my 2600/7800 games. I got the system and games cleaned and working on my late model CRT. I had some jitter with the paddle controllers, so I took them apart and cleaned the pots. They seem to work great now. After going through all of this effort, I will play any games I have the cart for on my original 7800 system. If I don't have the cart, I will play it on the Analogue NT Mini. I do have a bunch of paddle games too. Of all the paddle games, I wouldn't mind playing Tac Scan for this competition. Paddle games I have: Astroblast Canyon Bomber Breakout Circus Atari Demons to Diamonds Eggomania Encounter At L-5 Kaboom Night Driver Street Racer Super Breakout Tac Scan Video Olympics Warlords Warplock -

FPGA Based Videogame System
Sneakyturtleegg replied to kevtris's topic in Classic Console Discussion
As of this post, here are two facts: 1) Kevtris has not revealed to the community what he is currently working on; 2) It may be related to video gaming, or it may not be. Thats about it. Everything else is just conjecture. It is quite humorous to see people post authoritatively about what they think he is doing and arguing about it. There isn't enough good information and facts. Answers to the first 2 questions: Yes. Answer to the 3rd question as of this post: No. The NT Mini is currently in pre-order status. You can check on that here: https://www.analogue.co/pages/nt-mini -

When does the draft start? -
All of these controllers from retro systems are getting old and worn. The problem is we don't remember how they played and felt when they were new. Well some of us might. I've replaced the rubber contact pads on numerous controllers with various results. As far as new controllers go, I am a big fan of the Hyperkin GN6. I think it is one of the best reproduction controllers for any system. It is inexpensive, responsive and almost exactly like an OEM. I swear they are made from the same molds as the originals.

I've never put any real time into Enduro. I recently discovered it when Ferg did a 2 part podcast about Enduro on the 2600 Game By Game Podcast. -

Its not that the system doesn't or can't support them, its that the system only has 4 NES style controller inputs and a FDS expansion port. It has a USB port, but I think that is only used for power/charging. At the moment, there isn't a way to plug in a 9-pin D-connector controller. The developer (Kevtris) has cartridge adapters with original controller ports in development for each of the systems he has made a core for. I will be picking those up as soon as they are released. I have tried using an NES controller with Kaboom, Indy 500, Night Driver, Tac-Scan, Circus Atari, and Demons to Diamonds. The system reads the d-pad input, but not correctly. Those games are unplayable with the standard NES controller. Even if the paddle games did work correctly with an NES controller, I would still be at a huge disadvantage playing against the Atariage HSC crew! If a paddle game is to be played and I actually owned the cartridge, I suppose I could dig out my 7800 and paddle controllers. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of original 2600 or 7800 cartridges. That is why the Analogue NT Mini appealed to me. So many great FPGA system cores and games to be played on one awesome piece of hardware. I do have it hooked into a 27" CRT via component video. Old school feel with a crisp image. -

Before this gets started, I want to put it out there that I am playing on an Analogue NT Mini system. It is a FPGA based system that can load an Atari 2600 core. All of the switches are emulated and can be manipulated, but at the moment there is no way to hook up paddle/racing controllers. Needless to say, I won't be able to play the games requiring those controllers. Other than that, game selection should not be a problem for me. Also, I have no problems being traded as long as my move is being paid for! -
FPGA Based Videogame System
Sneakyturtleegg replied to kevtris's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The Master System core also supports the SG1000. I've also had some luck running GG games with the MS core. However, there is a dedicated Game Gear core that works great. In previous posts, Kevtris advised that the cartridge adapters will be available at a time and date to be determined, but are on the short list. As far as we know, they have been designed, just not produced. Take a look through Kevtris' YouTube channel. I believe there is more information about the adapters there. If you do get a NT Mini, I highly advise using he Smokemonster Rom Pack. It is all you will need, except for any newer rom hacks, if you are into those. -

Answer to Question 1: Yes. The Master System core supports FM sound for the compatible games. You have the choice to turn it on or off. Answer to question 2: The NT Mini outputs analogue or digital (depending on how you have it hooked up) for all cores. -

You can already tell who is going to win just by looking at the standings. We know who the great players are. I'm a casual, middle of the road player. Some games I am ok at, some I am not. With that being said, I do like the concept and would be interested in playing. If there is a way, we need to get players of the same skill level playing against each other for it to be competitive. Regardless, I think it will still be fun. -

I'll keep it simple. What Kevtris is currently working on cannot be determined based on the facts that have been obtained at this time. If you want to use derivative logic (lack of facts), you still cannot make a determination. It is all subjective speculation and opinion. At this point, I do not have an opinion about it, but this thread has been entertaining since it flipped to this topic. -
Homemade Cigar Box Arcade Controllers

I had no idea you were makinging joysticks until I saw Austin's unboxing on youtube. I love what I see! You've posted a lot in one of Kevtris' Analogue NT Mini threads, which is where I started on Atariage. I have a question: Do you have any plans on doing a NES/Analogue NT mini build? Something with 8 input buttons and a direction pad, like the 8bitdo controller that comes with the system? Or even a standard NES joystick to use with the NT Mini. Something like either of those would be great for all of the NT Mini retro cores. I'll definitely be keeping a pulse on what you are doing with your new boxes and look forward to supporting you. -

I never played this game up until this point. I like the concept, but not the execution. The randomness often makes it unfair, even in the early levels. The control is also poor. I know where I need to go and what I need to do, but I died many times because of the control. I think this game weighs a bit more on the side of luck than skill. I'll play it a few more times to post an average but respectable score, but I probably won't pick it up again. As I mentioned before, I am happy to be playing games in the High Score club, just to experience games like this that I've never played before. Fast Eddie is one of my new favorites so far. -
