  1. Will the ZX Spectrum +2 play all of the older tape-based Spectrum games?
  2. OK, gotcha! What is the sound like with these PVMs? I don't see any speakers on any of them, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right area? And is Sony the best brand? Because I have seen some JVC PVMs.
  3. Here's what I found on Craigslist Denver: http://denver.craigslist.org/ele/4524150638.html and this one: http://denver.craigslist.org/ele/4491237822.html I suppose that the one with RGB out listed would be the better one? I don't know anything about any of these model numbers.
  4. Ah, I didn't recognize your username on here immediately. At any rate, the problem that I have with PVMs-at least the ones I've seen on Ebay, is that they tend to be ridiculously expensive. Of course, someone on the shmups forums would give me a better deal then Ebay, but even then, I don't know which makes or models of PVMs are the best. Also, the inputs in the back of the PVMs that I've seen photos of look really confusing. And I don't care about RGB; just composite and RF out.
  5. In terms of multisystem TVs, I found this one: http://www.worldwidevoltage.com/sharp-14--super-multi-system-tv-model--14d2-for-110-220-volts.html With their cheapest shipping to Denver, the total would come to $168.97. Is that a good price? I know that the screen size is small, but I do trust Sharp when it comes to CRT TVs. And I haven't had much luck on Craislist Denver. Multisystem HDTVs are easy to find, but that's not what I'm looking for.
  6. OK, thanks! Are there any monitors that have RGB and that were sold here in the USA, like the Commodore 1084, for example, that will convert the signal?
  7. Let's say I got a PAL computer, like the Oric Atmos, and pluged the RGB cable into an NTSC monitor that supports RGB-would the RGB cable convert the PAL signal into NTSC?
  8. I know that there are some Master System games that take advantage of the FM sound chip, if it's installed. Can you install this chip in the Power Base Converter, or does it already have the chip?
  9. Yeah, I've seen some footage of that one and it looks pretty cool. The After Burner one-the one with the flight stick attached to it, looks great as well. I'm a HUGE Thunderblade fan, and Tiger's Thunderblade handheld also looks great. If I get a Tiger LCD game on Ebay, and it's not one where the controls are obvious, should I get it with the instructions? I don't know how many that handheld musem site has in PDF format.
  10. Well, I'd like to get Tiger's The Terminator game, after playing it on this site: http://www.pica-pic.com/ There are some REALLY addiciting games on that site!
  11. Nice video! You're right about the lack of resemblance, but it still looks like a fun Tiger game in its own right.
  12. OK, I didn't know that they worked on the Genesis. The Sega Sports Pad only works with about four games; Marble Madness isn't one of them. I looked at some old reviews of the NES game at mobygames.com, and the reviews say that the controls for the game are great. I'll have to check it out! The reviews for the Genesis version complain about the number of stages; apparently there are less of them then there are in the NES version.
  13. I really want to buy the NTSC versions of both of these games. Cartridge-only is just fine. Anywhere in the world is fine, although I really prefer U.S. or Canada. Payment will be immediate via Paypal. Please let me know if you have these games and would like to sell! Thanks!
  14. I found it, it was the Bernoulli Box! What an COOL piece of retro computing hardware!
  15. I can't find this video in my favorites, but there's a video of a special computer disk, that was introduced in 1987-these disks were enormus, and in some type of heavy plastic or metal casing. 1987 was the year that they were introduced, but I can't remember a brand or product name.
  16. Tiger LCD games were always stripped down. I don't think that any Master System controllers are compatible with the Genesis. AFIK, it's the other way around.
  17. I can't find any game play footage from this handheld on YouTube, but I am extremely curious about it. Home ports of Marble Madness fail IMO, because you need a track ball to properly play the game. The Tiger LCD version doesn't have this, but Tiger LCD games play slower then their arcade or console counterparts, so I'm actually thinking that the Tiger handheld may be the best way to play this classic at home. Does anyone here own it? Opinions are welcome.
  18. OK, cool stuff! What about the Battlefield games? I played through the single-player mode in the 2010 release ( the one where you're in Afghanistan), but I don't know if it had an offline mode where you could play against bots. And I'm really curious about Titanfall and Battlefield 4.
  19. I'm asking this question because I saw a Youtube video of a guy talking about Killzone Shadowfall, and he was playing offline against bots, but still scoring points, and the AI bots were very challenging to fight against. So, which games this generation, and before, allow you to do this? I know the Unreal Tournament games do, but I don't know about any of the Halo, COD, or Battlefield games. Or games like Counter Strike, for that matter.
  20. That's the thing-as CatPix alluded to, it was sold in France as well. And also in other European countries, plus Oceania. I really wish that there was at least one Japanese auction site that was English-friendly, because I don't know a word of Japanese.
  21. I've read that in the countries were it was released, that the Sega SC-3000 sold very well. So how come there's one on Ebay for $700.00 right now? Is it just Ebay, or is the Japanese SC-3000 really rare enough to justify a price that high?
  22. I have an iPad, and Raid Over Moscow (the C64 version) is available for purchase and play on it, but I haven't been able to find any reviews of this version. It uses touch controls, and even though it's $1.99, I'd really like to know how well those controls work before I purchase and download this game.
  23. I agree! And I'd purchase the games! What do people mean when they say that the background of a game is FMV? For example, Mega Race for the 3DO. I can see that the actor in it is FMV, but the in-game graphics?
