Thanks for the list! What's Thunderfox like? I love traditional shooters! I wouldn't have a problem with getting a 5200, but controllers with a lot of buttons scare me.

These aren't too hard to track down on Ebay, and I was wondering what the best model to get is, if you want to play 48K Spectrum games. It's a shame that you can't play 128K Spectrum games on any of the models.

You could turn the 7800 into a 8bit computer if the keyboard was available and basic/DOS or some such cart was available. You can't turn it into an Atari 8 bit computer (i.e. XEGS, 800XL) as they are very different. Gotcha! @AtariFever, where'd you get that shirt (or at least that what it looks like) that you have in your avatar? Very cool!

OK, thanks for all that! I wonder, then, if my modded NES controller that I use for my 7800 would work on the XEGS? Or, for that matter, a Genesis controller.

Well, I MISS my PSTwo. I'll definately get another when I get the money; it is my favorite next-gen (or last-gen) console, due to the sheer variety and numbers of games playable on it. You can play anything from The Raiden Project, from the mid-1990's, up to the latest releases. I liken it to the NES, in that there's literally something for everyone. Of course, the XBOX certainly has it's merits; playing OutRun 2 at an arcade sold me on the system!

Are there any websites that would have a comprehensive listing of XEGS cartridges, and where are some good places to by XE, 400, 800 and XL games?

The only problem that I've ever heard about is overheating in the power brick, but, AFIK, that's been fixed. Is there anything else? I might like to get one of these, eventually, but I'd rather not gamble with $400.

I just gave this version a go on Stella, and it's by far the best home port of this game that I've ever played! But, according to the manual, there is some kind of cable that you need to connect the two joysticks together in order to use your car's special weapon. Where can I find one of these, and is it hard to hook-up? I've never heard of linking two 2600 joysticks together before.

There is www.recordedamigagames.org , a C64 gameplay footage site. and a site with NES, SNES, and Genesis speedruns, but I have yet to find an Atari gameplay footage site. Other then the one's on YouTube, footage from 2600, 5200 (and all Atari 8-bit games) 7800, and Atari computer games is very hard to find. Any suggestions?

I can't get rescue on Fractalus to work on this either. When I insert it as a cartridge, it tells me that it's corrupt. I downloaded it from this site, so, I have no idea what to do. I'm also getting a Rom Load Error when I even try to start the emulator.

I'd really like to pick one of these up, but can they play Atari 5200 games? I guess I'm confused as to what types of games the XEGS can play.

What are the games? Twin Cobra is the main offender, and Dragon Warrior. Oh yeah, and I thought that NES controllers were supposed to work on the NEX? I got one used, and the screen flips out, with games starting and running by themselves when I try to use it!

All I want is something simple, like Stella, where I can just drag and drop the games in, and it will run. Any suggestions?
