Someone should mod these clone systems to work properly, and then resell them on Ebay. I'd buy a properly modded clone system.

OK, well I am sorry if was too harsh, and I mean that sincerely. I had someone tell me to take it to an electronics store, (this is not a place like Bestbuy), but I'm not even sure that a local retro game store would know what to do with it. And I did test all the games. But the contacts on the 2 that have problems are as clean as can be.

He did the modding himself, and no, he didn't get as specific as a chip. You'd think that someone who's knowledgeable enough to mod one of these older consoles for AV out would notice something like that, and fix it. What's worse is that he's a top-rated seller on Ebay. I think he's on this site. glennfre is his Ebay name.

I appreciate all the help! So, would any of the Macintosh SE models have system 6 or a fan?

So I got an Intellivision III that's modded for AV out from Ebay. The picture looks great, of course, but when playing Astrochase or Atlantis (and I cleaned the contacts on both of these games very well) both games reset to the title screen after anywhere from 2 minutes to 15 minutes of game play. I have no idea what''s causing it, and even the Ebay seller can't pinpoint a direct cause.

There was a video game store, not far from where I live now, that I used to go to all the time, back in the late 1980's. Of course, it hasn't been there for years, but for nostalgia purposes, I want to find out the name of the store, which I can't remember. I don't know how to search the history of a building, although I do have the address: http://www.loopnet.com/Property-Record/6840-S-University-Boulevard-Centennial-CO-80122/A4v6RB05A/ I guess I could use their free trial, but I'm always skeptical of how "free" free trials are. If there's anyone else on here who lived in Denver, back in the late 1980's, any help would be great! I am positive that it wasn't a Software Etc., or Babbages, so that eliminates two former video game stores.

Are there any reproduction carts for Atari 8-bit computers?..

If you Google Video61, you will see the Video61/Atari Sales website. Get on it, and look under "New Atari 400/800/XL/XE Carts" section, and you will see a listing for an Atari translator cart. -

OK, well thanks for letting me know. How does the Atari translator cartridge work? Let's say I have an 800XL, with an Astrochase cartridge which is not compatible with the 800XL. Do I just put the in the translator cart, take it out and then put in Astrochase? -
Well I just played revision 4, and it's awesome! A LOT more fun then Flappy Bird, IMO! I would definitely buy this!

Is it just me, or does the Atari 2600 just have a better build quality then the 5200, or Intellivsion? (Or the Colecovision, for that matter?). Because I own a 2600 jr. and have owned a 4-switch 2600, and I haven't had the kind of issues that I had with the 5200 and the Intv III.

Cool, I didn't know that the stfm was sold in Canada. The Amiga didn't fare much better here, but I don't think anyone had to mail order any software for it. I had the 512K Macintosh, and while the selection of games at my local Software ETC was a tiny fraction of what it was for IBM compatible PCs, it wasn't that bad.

http://atariage.com/forums/topic/231588-two-port-5200-video-problem-help/ I just read through this thread, so nevermind. I apologize for not having read it before I started this thread; it was never my intention to clog the boards.

Well, Combat Commando, now I know what's wrong with my 5200. Except, in my case, the 5200 freezes after a minute or so of game play. I don't have any kind of electrical or soldering skills at all, so I'll give it to my older brother, who will give it to a place that recycles electronics.

Would it be possible to make some kind of adapter so that people could use real Colecovision controllers on this flashback unit? Also, is there a list somewhere that documents which games on this Colecovision Flashback have inaccuracies, compared to the originals?

My Atari 5200 works, but games are freezing up on me. I cleaned Astrochase and it's still freezing during gameplay. I hope I didn't get a broken 5200. Please help!

I didn't think it was appropriate to post it in the 5200 forum, given that it was/is a detailed hardware issue.

I finished cleaning the contacts on Astrochase, and the game still freezes. Any advice would be welcome.

Yep, I own a 5200; the two-port version. When I play Astrochase or Rescue on Fractalus, the screen freezes. The reset button on the controller (which is a rebuilt 5200 controller) doesn't reset the game-I have to turn the 5200 off, and then back on again. I cleaned the contacts on Astrochase, but I have no idea how to get into Rescue on Fractalus, if the contacts on these games are the problem. Which I hope they are! If it helps, I'm using RF, (with a video cable-no switchbox) and have the 5200 turned to channel 3.

Youtube gamer MN12BIRD did a video on the mini SNES, which I watched, and he mentioned nothing about compatibility; in fact he showed that you can also mod the mini SNES to play Super Famicom games by taking out the same plastic tabs. It does not have S-Video out, unless modded, or RF out. It also doesn't have an LED power light. I never cared about the boxy design of the original SNES. In the Fall of 1991, I played a demo unit at Target, and was blown away by the graphics and sounds in Super Mario World. But, I decided to ask for a Sega Genesis for Christmas that year, as I had read about slow down in SNES games like Super R-Type. And I had gamed a lot on our Mac 512K, and had read that the Genesis had the same 68000 microprocessor. SNES hardware and games have gone through the roof, in terms of prices, on Ebay! Even a game as common as Super Castlevania IV goes for well over $30.00, and, unfortunately, it only gets worse from there.
