  1. Back in the late 1980s, my Dad got a Macintosh 512K. I had a LOT of fun gaming on it, but there was one big negative about it that I also remember about it. More times then I can remember, we got the "Sorry A System Error Occured" message box, with the little bomb logo. I don't remember any of the error numbers, and to this day, I can't understand why we got so many of them. The only possible explanation that I've gotten is that it happened so often because the 512K had no fan. But in that case, wouldn't it just have overheated, and died completely?
  2. I don't want to jailbreak my iPad, and I'm not running any emulators on it. What about the SteelSeries Stratus Wireless controller? Number one on my list is game compatibility. (SteelSeries has a list of compatible iPad games on their website, but they don't list all compatible games. I have purchased some games from Sega for my iPad, like Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic CD, Altered Beast, and Streets of Rage, and I would love a controller that works with those games-although the touch screen controls are not terrible by any means. I know about the Logitech Powershell, but AFIK, you can only use it on the iPod, not the iPad.
  3. So I watched with great interest a guy on Youtube who knows someone in the UK who mods consoles, like PS2s and Saturns, for example. Would it be possible to mod a classic computer, like a C64, Amiga, or ST to be region-free?
  4. I have an iPad Air (original model; not the new one) and I was wondering if there are any good controllers that you can use with it? I have R-Type, and while the touch controls are fine, they're no substitute for using a controller.
  5. Well I just got some Huggies wipes today, and they work really well! Thanks for the suggestion!
  6. OK, I've heard of those books; when is that second one coming out? I definitely get the feeling that Atari did a much better job marketing the ST line, and the Falcon and TT, in the UK and Europe then they did here in the USA. And that reminds me of Commodore, and the way they marketed the C64 and Amiga computers-more were sold in the UK and Europe.
  7. Is there a book on the history of Atari computers? Like the book "Commodore: A Company on the edge"?
  8. Where there any U.S.-released games for the Falcon? Can you play "regular" ST games on one?
  9. I haven't seen any evidence that it was; the only videos on YouTube of it are from the UK or countries like Germany. The Wikipedia article on the Falcon didn't say.
  10. Lol, good point! Can you use them on other consoles?
  11. I didn't know you could use baby wipes on video game consoles. The inside of the 2600jr is fine.
  12. My 2600jr is in excellent working condition, but I'd really love to polish the outside of it. However, it has such a different texture to it, on the black parts, that I have no idea what to use.
  13. Yep. Albert told me that he could merge my two previous accounts together. In told him to please do that, but I haven't heard back from him yet.
  14. I'd love to own an Apple IIc, but Apple color monitors aren't cheap, and I wonder how composite out to a CRT TV looks. I haven't found any images on the internet, although I did find one website with screenshots of how bad it looks on the IIgs. But the IIc isn't as powerful.
  15. I really wish we could see some Starpath Supercharger games on an Atari Flashback console. There's my wish list for the Atari Flashback 6-if we even see a 6.
  16. I got the Colecovision Flashback last week, and it love it! But I'd really like to know what kind of controllers you can plug into the ports at the front of the system. Because I tried a Genesis controller, and it didn't work.
  17. OK, can you please merge them both together? Please let me know via PM what my new password will be, or for any information that you need from me. Thanks!
  18. Thanks for the offer! I'm just worried about confusing people on the forums, as to who I really am, if it's changed back.
  19. Gotcha Bill. (Yes, I am now newataridave; I had to re-register.) I really wish some HDTV manufactuerer would address the issues associated with playing retro consoles on HDTVs. I mean, what are retro gamers going to do when all the CRTs have died? 4K is already close on the horizon, and I don't know how longer used TV and TV repair shops, and thrift stores, will continue to sell used CRTs.
  20. First of all, I would like to start out by saying that I love Atariage; these are the best videogame forums that I've ever been on. And I'm not brown nosing, or kissing up to anyone. However, this is the third time I've had to re-register on here. I was dave4shmups, then ataridave, and now newataridave. Resetting your password for this site shouldn't be as complicated as it is. I recognize the need for security on the web these days, but the temporary passwords that I've had emailed to me from this site are too long and complicated. What's worse is that once I've pasted a reset password into the sign in box, it still says I'm wrong. I'm sorry to whine, but as I mentioned earlier, I do love these forums, and I want to be able to access them simply, even if I forget a password. And I really don't want to have to re-register again.
  21. Excellent! Thanks for that useful information! Speaking of the Game Gear, which games on it are exclusive titles, rather then just Master System ports?
  22. I'd like to get a Game Gear and the Majesco model is one that I've recently become aware of. But I looked on Ebay, and all I could find were Majesco a Game Gear cartridges, not any actual Game a Gear systems. And from a video that I recently watched, the screen quality of the Majesco models looks a lot better.
  23. I honestly have no idea how I managed not to end up on Teampixelboy's website. I will send you a PM!
  24. I loves me some Compile shmup action, but I did a Google search for Gulkave on the Colecovision, and could find any home brew sites that sell it. I even checked the Colectorvision site, and didn't find it on there either. I did find 2 on Ebay, but, of course, those were insanely priced.
