    Serpentine 7800

That was always a fun and challenging game. Looks great! Hope it makes it onto a cart.
  2. Haha... yeah, here at the home they encourage gaming I raised two gamers and now I'm trying to keep up with my grandson. Bob put a lot of life into the 7800 and that got me going after kind of a dry spell. My wife bought me a Xbox One for Christmas. It's an awesome system and I love it, but Atari will always be my favorite. My first love is my wife of course who took up knitting after giving me the Xbox...the things we do for love Yep, stay young at heart and don't forget to take your Phillips
  3. Don't feel too bad, Bob. I turned 30, 34 years ago... but I'm never hanging up my joysticks! Any other senior citizens here?
  4. Happy Birthday, young man! How'd the build go? Pry yourself away long enough to celebrate turning 30? Jim
  5. If you're still working on this, Best has a ton of info on batteries. Might be worth a look. Jim www.best-electronics-ca.com/power%20guide.html
  6. And if you roll the score you get an image of Bob in his Pac-Man pjs... Hey Bob...
  7. Talk to Brad at Best Electronics or pick up one for $15. 1-408-278-1070 ($20 minimum order)
  8. Happy Holidays to all. If you've been naughty this year, get in line Thanks again to Al and company for all their work for us to enjoy. Jim (If you were naughty this year, you probably had more fun )
  9. I was never really impressed with Gyruss, but did pick it up for the 8-bit. I'm hopinmg someone will tackle Missile Command. Just out of curiousity would you rather have Gyruss or Missile Command with both joystick and trakball controls? Ok, Bob, I can't do the 5K, but I can do the women. Just one catch...they're my age. Jim
  10. Very cool! Since Christmas is getting close, can you pull off a Bing Crosby style "White Christmas". Jim
  11. In my opinion you should avoid Ebay if possible. Try Best Electronics first. They sell only genuine Atari parts and they have 1meg simms for $10. They do have a minimum of $25 per order. Best Electronics best-electronics-ca.com 408-278-1070 M-F 1:30-5:00 pst (they're very busy, but have always had fast turnarounds.) Please let me know your experience with them if you go that route. Jim
  12. Yes, I will be giving video games for Christmas. My son-in-law just got a PS4 so I'll be going that route, however I'm working on turning my grandson into another Atari enthusist. So far he likes 7800 Centipede and Bob's Space Invaders (right now with the bombs off)...hey, he's only four, but loves Atari so far. I'm waiting for him to get a little older and capable of playing Bentley Bear. Can't wait! Yes, I'll be asking for video games - hopefully gift certs from here J.
  13. My mistake and apologies. The cases are for 2600/7800 carts. They hold 14 carts and have the documentation slot in the center.

    HELP!

Actually another crt isn't such a bad idea, but I looked and they're not easy to find. I thought a LED might work, save some space and perhaps DVDs might look better. So far, no luck with any.
  15. I've been using a 1999 27" Panasonic TV for game playing, but it just passed on. What kind of TV/monitor (LCD, LED, other) should I be looking for? How big of a screen can be used before there's pixel separation and the graphics become chunkey? I hooked up a 400 to a 35" TV and the pixel seperation on Battle Zone and Defender was terrible. The graphics on other games were very chunky. Do I need to go with 720 or 1080 monitors? Brand? Once in awhile I used to play a DVD through the old Panasonic with a great picture. The 28" Samsung and Visios I've looked at are all 720s, but they do have both the composite as well the coax/antenna inputs. Would appreciate a little/a lot of help Thanks, Jim
  16. I don't recall in which forum I saw this post, but someone was looking for Atari cartridge cases. I called today to make sure they were still in stock and they are. Anyone can get the original Atari Library Cases. They are black with wood grain fronts and have the manual slot in factory packaging. These are for 8-bit cartridges only. They go for $8.00 a piece. They also have 6' extension cords which will work with both joysticks and paddles. They also have 10' and 20' extension cables which work with joysticks only. The 6' and 10' cords go for $6.00 and the 20' goes for $8.00. You can even get fire buttons ($1.50 each) and springs ($.50 each) These are available from Best Electronics: 408-278-1070, [email protected] Hope that helps a bit.
