The wife is intractable. She wants cookies and chocolate. If she eats them then she says she gets even fatter from the guilt calories. If she doesn't eat them then she complains even more. What to do?

My NES is the devil. I've done everything imaginable to make it as reliable as it can be, and yet it still always chooses the most infuriating times to freeze up in the middle of a game. I swear that nothing made before the Sega Genesis ever works right around here.
