I can't wait to watch the whole thing! Will there be a DVD case with a DVD insert, or maybe DVD DVD's with a Digital DVD download and a coupon for ranch dressing!?! I really like the movie and think it will be much better than current media offerings.. I think in the sequel he should dye himself different colors to try and sneak in amongst other vegetables as a secret agent. Maybe have him go to Venus and live on a giant silver 'dinner plate' derigible. He could peanut better himself and sneak raisins across the border! He could council fat girls on weight loss by explaining "The Great Chomp", a long forgotten war between teeth and carrots (secretly won by, you guessed it, celery)! He could star in his own *gasp VIDEO GAME!! Nah..that idea is waaaay overdone nowadays.. He could narrate "Faces of Crunch" an immensely disturbing video about the sudden deaths of celery (AKA "The Naked Chef", depending on who you are..)! (also..my current number of posts upside down and backwards is "hOE"..)

Yeah, that game is a BLAST! The answer to "Where is Galaga?" back in the day. There really are some great games for the SuperCharger.

Ebay is good if you want to try and get a lot. If you want to pay a lot then whittle through games one by one! I've picked up several lots from eBay and found that the local pawn shops didn't mind taking the dupes off of my hands. Sega had some pretty good ones, in my opinion. One of my favorite games is Tapper and another is Spy Hunter. Rampage really rocks on the 2600 (I find it much easier than other versions and it's still two player!)! Kung Fu Master and Commando are both AWESOME! Welcome and best of luck and good fortune with your collection! Another thing you'll wanna get is a Harmony Cart to cut back on the wear and tear on your cartridge port and to open the way for homebrews and hacks! There is a version of Mario Bro. with better graphics than the original, several Pac-Man upgrades, and a myriad of homebrew games that run great on the real hardware!

I really wouldn't want to single them out as it would probably draw some of the, eh..'rawness' over into other, more innocent places. I have read people with a business-degree level of understanding arguing over whether the Jaguar was a 'commercial success' (they obviously saw it as a failure, as would most)!?! The bash-club (not a gang, sorry..) herded and chomped and chewed that fellow ,although, like the frog in the gullet of the crane, he never gave up! To wade through so much sarcastic and deflective retort just to read some practical posts can be a trial in itself. I agree that MOST of the forum is safe to tread lightly, but there are places I avoid now, too. And I LOVE the Jaguar! I just missed the chance to befriend and learn from Pacmanplus. Someone that can program a game as good looking as that zombie game is an asset to a forum that focuses so much on the system at hand. There are many up and coming programmers for the VCS/2600, but the 7800 needs some more like him! I do hope he comes back in full force, with some vigor and maybe some..SAMPLES!!

Here is Titan Axe!! Anyone who wants to try the game feel free! If you want to be added as a playtester in the manual that may be possible!?! This is nearly/possibly identical to the final release! Only minor changes have been made since the last download... Here is a brief rundown of controls: Reset restarts the game The left difficulty switch sets the games difficulty The right difficulty switch turns off and on music Fire starts the game and, while holding left or right, selects a character. Holding fire while pressing directions performs the following actions: Up=Magic Down=Special attack Right=right side swing Left=Left side swing Holding fire without a direction Jumps Right and Left control the jump direction Letting go of the button during jump performs a Jump attack Holding fire on the game over screen continues the current game Holding a direction during the title, character select screen, and winning (easy and hard mode) screens plays one of the four other songs from the game (no direction being pressed plays the main theme). Have fun!! TitanAxe.bin

I won't name any names, but I have seen personally a group of four or more people that belittle and bash people for arguing their opinions, even labeling them 'trolls' when all they do is defend what they know or believe. They attack what someone says calling them 'stupid' or worse and then their tight little group 'likes' everything that was said in belittling fashion! I don't program games under the stipulations that they should fit everyone in the world with all manner of disability. Occasional screen flashing is in several old school games and fit's in to many of those, in my opinion. Check on the Jaguar side of the forum if you want to see some heavy concentrations of badgering. I've talked to people privately who feel they have been (and I have been) singled out for verbal attack and it is degrading! Atari is something considered widely to be safe for children and is tame compared to modern media. If a child were to play Atari and then find this forum they would likely run into several components that would deflect/shock them! I would recommend heavier moderation. I am a member of several forums, this having been one where my opinions or ideas have been attacked more heavily than on others. From the other side of the fence, I think more moderation would benefit it greatly.

Anyone interested in a run of Sirius & Plutos? SOLD OUT!
Papa replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Atari 7800
WANT! If there is any way to still get them, let me know!! -
Now if only they put THAT music at the beginning! I know it would be different, but man does that sound AWESOME! Xevious was one of my first 7800 games back in the day and Robotron was the prequel (at least in a programming sense) to Smash TV, which is one of my favorites of all time, so yeah..they both are GREATNESS!! At 4.34 you can watch a great comparison of the NES version of Xevious versus the 7800 version. I really like how the 7800 just busts out the pixels. There are also many other great comparisons in this video..

I changed my mind because this forum is in dire need of creative programmers. Also, thanks for linking to my game! Everyone try out Titan Axe! Oh, and RT, there's a signal down the street flashing away (I think it's telling people to stop and go, but I'm not sure) you better go take that down quick!! Saying that it might be a good thing for awesome looking games to be kept from the limelight to 'make the old collection look better' just encourages me to make games that look even more awesome! I'm someone that does my own graphics, music, sound effects, programming and have around fifteen projects that all look as good as Titan Axe or better! My wife is on here now and having fun and the sting of initial insults has faded. My game will be published and hopefully help people to see that the Atari still has some potential to dazzle retro lovers and people looking for that old school feel. I didn't 'think' that a moderator deleted my post, my post WAS deleted (or some magical code goblin ate it! I guess those are here!?)! There are some seriously evil a$$holes on this forum that gang up on and attack people quite regularly. When that stops (moderated?) then the forum will be safe again for people like Bob, who it is truly a great place for. Nice people with talents expressing themselves openly and hooking you up at the same time should be protected! Would you like me to leave? I suppose a great looking game like mine may make those old crappy games look stale!?! I was just making the best game that I could within 32K (4K graphics) on the standard kernel. I actually enjoy playing the game I made, as do my kids and wife and hopefully anyone who has tried it since it's last updates. I also really like many of the homebrew games that are growing up here on the forum and foresee them becoming excellent carts in the future! There are many talented beginning programmers here! I really hope they don't get driven away by the insults they may face in promoting themselves here.

I got two words for all non-believers (and this would rock HARD CORE if they got it on cart)! SHOVEL KNIGHT!! If they get games like Assaulter and Shovel Knight on this system, on a cartridge, it will be AWESOME!!

But Star Trek SOS is GOOOOD! Jedi Arena is extremely fun, though. Empire is grossly inaccurate in that you actually blast down AT-ATs by frequently shooting a weak point, going against the holy doctrine. I was just playing Return the other day and find it extremely fun as well. I still think that the Star Trek Strategic Operations Simulator is better than the Star Wars offerings on Atari (it just barely beats Star Wars Arcade, though. I really love that game). Just my opinion. I really dig how in Star Trek SOS they show the viewscreen and a 2D view of the battlefield and it plays really well.

I was just playing Altered Beast on my 2 year old daughters At-Games Genesis (I have one in my bedroom, too). She can actually press buttons and directions when told and knows how to select games. She plays Ecco so she can jump out of the water. The system was usually used for music before she could use the controller. My oldest daugher plays Fatal Labyrinth a lot. It's SO CUTE when my two year old wants to play or watch the system!! She asks for "Sega!?" when she wants to play Sonic and says "Power up!" when she wants me to play Altered Beast for her. I love explaining everything when I play, like... "That's Zeus and he's bringing me back from the dead!" and "That's his daughter who was taken away by Neff!!"! She says "Wolf" when I turn into a werewolf, and "Bear!" when I get to the werebear stage. She loves saying "Power UP!" when I get the 'get it' balls (I know they don't say 'get it' on the MD/Genesis version, it's just what I call them from being an Arcade whore..)! I almost beat it for her the other day but she walked in front of the controller and it cut out a few times and I got kicked down by a upright purple unicorn.. I've also been playing the At-Games 'Battleship' (I beat it!) and the chess games it comes with. When I play in my room I use a nice floaty pad instead of the RC ones that PISS ME OFF, AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!! I also play my bootleg Estonia copy of MUSHA! OH CRAPITY SNAP I LOVE THAT GAME SO MUCH!!!

COLLECTORVISION - Official Thread for PRINCESS QUEST
Papa replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I got it on the Colecovision flashback and this game is AWESOME SAUCE!! I don't know about the Intellivision versions differences, but It should probably be pretty good? -
To truly experience all that the U.S. library has to offer (and, strangely enough, what the Japanese never got!) one must have a Japanese Master System with an adapter to plug U.S. games into the back! This enables never-before-heard FM music that was programmed into many games but never experienced. I really enjoy most Master System games, although I play any Japanese version over the U.S. one unless there is FM music to be unlocked as they often sound better and there are more games to choose from. I also use a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive pad (one with a raised thumbpad, not the stiff ones) for my Master System games, or an arcade cabinet with switch controls. I always play better with an arcade stick and buttons and find that Master System games have a lot to offer. The adapter can be easily made and allows you to plug U.S. games into the back and play them on the Japanese system! I feel that the Master system was pushed out of the light by the NES and really deserved more positive attention than it got. I also have never really bought into the idea that the SNES was superior to the MD. They had newer games and a cool controller design. Most of their games were very difficult (Super Ghouls and Ghosts comes to mind). The MD can display more than 64 colors at once!! I felt that the gameplay suffered on many SNES games. The best titles were Square games and Nintendo exclusives, in my opinion..

Sound effects are pretty easy.. Numbers go after the = indicating a value. Volume goes up to 15 (I think), Frequency goes up to 31 (maybe 32?), and Control goes up to 15! This creates a myriad of possibilities!! AUDC0= AUDF0= AUDV0= AUDC1= AUDF1= AUDV1= You have two channels for control, frequency, and volume. Open the maniacal sound generator and find what you want there! I wrote all of the music and sound effects in my game using it! It takes time, but is worth it! Place these in the loop so that the drawscreen activates them. Put a AUDV0=0 somewhere to shut it up! Adding music is a different story and requires a little more work!!

Great art on that manual! Very interesting game. I'm getting into it!

Just played the newest version. Very cool! Wifey said that "Meteor Mash" sounds like a good name!? The stars are excellent. The colors are very 'Atari' and I just dig it.

In the interview and on the Facebook page it is explained that the FPGA will get an instruction set for each programming style and this will control how the game is interpreted by the processor. Some ARM processors ARE FPGA and I don't think they are talking about some dye-drop FOAC, low bit chip solely for emulation. He wasn't expressing that it would be 'revolutionary' by being better than modern systems, but by offering something not yet offered as a cartridge-based console. I will always favor certain technologies over others. I firmly believe that a point is met in the life of an idea where it is expressed in a near-perfect way and then it gets chopped down. In our time the legal responsibility for companies to increase profits has made everything break down to the barest, cheapest expression and most convoluted form. Cars are the baby of industry today, requiring bits from all the powerful media companies and tech fields to get everyone's money hooked to a loan. Even chocolate sucks here now because of how everything needs to be cheap to secure consistently higher profits. TV's die out faster than ever. I wouldn't say that Philo's TV was the best one to get, but one from the late eighties that has a tube-life of twenty to forty years. I think CD/DVD/BR are too fragile and require too many things working together perfectly to be better than offerings from the past. I wouldn't say that reel movies are the best you could get, but I would say it became nearly perfected around the time of betamax and then with vhs and went down pretty fast from there. The motor goes out, then the disk or the battery or a cap..whatever. Cartridge systems were available for the consumer for up to twenty years. Just a few years ago we had the PS3, then a few years before that, the PS2. The disks get bad, the motors go bad, the fans cooling the processors go out and the thermal paste crusts up and fails! The 360 is a great example of how screwed the world is when tech is set up for sale to the consumer. I think the name may just be a big joke in itself. They plan on having an aluminum case that would let the scaler chip breath and keep the system cool AAAND at the last minute the case is turned to plastic (an insulator) so the system melts down and is RROD in no time. "What should we name this piece of S#!T?" "How about the 360? Cause your gonna buy one and then pull a big 360 taking it back to the store and then coming home empty handed! HA HAAAAAAAA!!" *farts Then this fits right in with your downloads. You spend a thousand bucks downloading all the games from the past you want to remember and beat for the first time and low and behold, the system burns out. Maybe it's perfect in that you were playing Legend of Zelda on a 360W, four-fan-having, money-sucker of a download-everything system! You send it back, they fix it, AAAAND you get your fixed system back EMPTY! Sure you can re-download stuff if you have the same IP and they remember you, but it SUCKS and proves my point.

Go 4K,8K, 16K, or 32K bankswitched, copy the player1 sprite to more than one place at a time with extra drawscreens or use DPC+ to have a crap-ton of sprites, draw other sprites that take the place of player1 when a certain score is achieved (Nukey Shay has a DIM score setup that can't be beat!)! YOU CAN DO IT! I KNOW YOU CAN!!

It's missile command meets space invaders! I like it. The flashing is no big deal in this one, in my opinion, as it is just an explosion effect. RT is currently boycotting gun muzzles, plastic model kits, a certain DC comics character, and spring break! He considers color cycling to be a cheap effect and that, rather than leaving it up to the programmer, the whole world should change everything that has even the slightest flicker. He is also against putting on slippers and has decided to carpet the entire planet! More/different badguys? A starfield/background that scrolls? Two baddies at once? Either way it's a great start! This is a cool little concept game and I really like it! I would call it something like "Fireball Invaders" or "Asteroid Command"..Something like that... (cheesy, I know..) I'm sure there are better titles it could have..

Once Titan Axe has an instruction manual, it should be ready to publish!!
