  2. I can't believe I'm playing this. This is phenomenal!
  3. FIGURES. It's my Television giving all the wierd bleeding issues. on my small Sylvania, the picture is fine. UGHHH

  4. I'd say it's probably when your heart skips a beat upon finding a label variant. "Ooh, the elusive lowercase Missile Command!" Like I don't have 4 of those already? Jeez.
  5. Does not the Harmony allow for 8KBytes Accessible RAM? That may help in this case. I may not be well-read on the harmony setup but it's very tempting.
  6. If I want to see a political discussion the way the internet has one, I can just watch a food fight in a school lunchroom.

  7. Okay, so I've been doing some comparisons between the two consoles, to see what I can do to fix them. I'll just list what I've found here. I have two units, one I will call stiff (because the switches are stiff) and the other loose (since the switches are.. you know) So Stiff has the following anomalies: Anything bright and blue hues will bleed. a lot. a little on the right and a lot on the left. This makes the copyright text on Yar's revenge almost unreadable. On Centipede's title screen, the Blue section of the centipede (the N) is very blurry. the copyright text and ATARI letters are blurry as well, shifted left. All reddish hue seems to be fine. There is a little ghosting on bright white (visible in B&W mode on Video pinball). the Purple colors are also "bordered" with ghosting. The first stage of Jr. Pac Man has a little noise in the olive/brown maze part. On the right side of the blocks on Super Breakout, there is a little bright white line there. Loose has this: Jr. Pac Man stage starts off GREEN! After a few minutes, the colors slowly come back to normal. very strange. There isn't any fuzz in the signal, that I can see. Kool-Aid Man does NOT WORK.... Well, it does sometimes, but on occasions it will go mental and not show the score, and the player just bounces all over the walls. Very weird. There is a little ghosting on greenish hues on this one, some on the blue, but it will go away (!!) after a few minutes. Most of these issues aren't very critical, other than some of the bleeding, Stiff is in great shape! I would, however, like to remedy some of these things.
  8. Okay, so I did notice that the colors are shifting a little bit to their right colors. sometimes Jr. Pac Man starts on a GREEN playfield and not the olive colored one. after a minute though, it all looks fine. I'm not sure where to test and what to test. Is there a step-by-step guide to this? mobo screenshots with labels would be great.
  9. Time to update the Trivia; Zellers ain't no more.

  10. Okay, so leaving my 2600 on for about 5 minutes clears up the color issues...

  11. I'm really worried about opening my 2600 to determine why blue hues are bleeding, I don't even know what I'm doing, halp!

  15. Just wanna tell the guy that ripped the RF Shielding out of my spare 2600 that he was incredibly stupid. Any way I can fix this?

Why'd you let him do it in the first place?

AV mod it and RF shielding shouldn't make much of a difference.

  22. I love how the insert paper says "DO NOT THROW AWAY PACKAGING!" yet the packaging itself says to discard immediately.

  23. Here's an interesting one... My dad was watching me play some of the Atari 2600 games I had cleaned up (Mostly the Activision ones) I was playing Spider Fighter at the time. And he said, "can't you use the paddle?" I said, "Yeah, that would be a pretty cool idea." Since that game moves so fast, a paddle would really fit for it, especially in maneuvering around the spiders. Which games do you wish used the paddle or other controls? Or are you content with joystick controllers?

WARNING: This will probably make you cringe. Remember that stuff I said about me not taking care of stuff? Well, this one wasn't me. I saved this from the trashcan somewhere. This hurts to look at. It plays great, but... It's painful.
  25. "Demons to Diamonds. Demons to Diamonds. Good lord, Demons to Diamonds. I heard a LOT about this title. It looked really boring, and I never liked it when demoed at the store. Yet, Atari would not shut up about it. Months and months of promotional brochures of this "game" that looked really crappy to me compared to the Activision games coming out that year. To this day, I have no idea how to play it."
