What mods have been done or are still available for the Lynxes?
towmater replied to Lynxpro's topic in Atari Lynx
BTW, do not do this mod, I'm working on a variation that won't require gluing things to your motherboard. -
I'm sure it a TOS update joke. Just thinking that is funny enough, most likely, so no need to run the bin.

OT: Oregon Trail handheld, Target store exclusive
towmater replied to Lathe26's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I think I found an immortality bug. After winning too easily as an East Coast Banker, I decided I would try to hunt my way across country with minimal investment at the start. After breaking two wheels and with nothing to trade, I found that if I simply waited nine days continuously in succession, and as long as I never tried to trade again, I would live forever at some spot along the trail. It seems only trading or movement invokes the sickness and hunger routines. This is of course a very boring approach, and I gave up somewhere in the 1870's. -

I pieced together a Scart cable over the weekend, and I'm quite pleased with the quality of the Formlabs 3d printed shroud, and the scart-hdmi convertor from Amazon.

Game.com, oh come on. There were two systems?
towmater replied to towmater's topic in Classic Console Discussion
All righty, if an answer you seek... I will phrase my response in the manner of Victor Buono's evil character "Mr. Schubert" from The Man From Atlantis (1977-1978) which as an average educated person randomly chosen from a among the public (which see definition of "common knowledge") would know of as an example with the extrinsic obscurity of a Game.com screen's quality. "In the original post, my dear boy, there was nowhere elaborated the notion that the poster was not keenly aware of the quality if Game.com screen technology, merely a simple inquiry as to the opinions of those who might already own one, the relative quality of the game.com mini's screen in comparison. And now, with the help of my assistant as portrayed by Michael Dunn (of whom the average member of the public will be knowledgeable), I will now destroy the land-world that has caused our deep-sea denizens to suffer long enough, with their broad generalizations and emu-ic like behavior that without knowledge of the past technologies must inevitably condemn to repeat them." "Mu hah ha." -

I paid $15 for the items in the OP. It was worth that to hear Duke Nukem babbling on about his sunglasses. -

I am attempting to win the Internet. Though seriously, it is a part of my job so I have to learn from the good, bad, and ugly. "Common knowledge." That's hilarious. -
I thought the mint-in-box Game.com with a baker's dozen of cartridges would pretty much wind up my collection of this system, but then I saw this in the box. Now I have to hunt down a completely different model. I wonder if the mini version has an actually readable screen? Even in mint condition with no visible issues, the motion-blur on this thing is agonizing.

I didn't have enough info to make a decision, so I asked Simius to recommend, and he (or she) chose 1536x960

Is the Happy rom backed up somewhere? If not I'll throw it in the eprom reader.

Courtesy of the thrift store, I bought this after spotting the SIO ports. Opening it, there seems to be a set of mystery boards, I suspect this is a copy protection thingy. Can I do anything with this, or should I seal it up for the Indiana Jones-style artifact warehouse?
