  1. Thanks for the updated list! This has probably been discussed elsewhere, but can anyone definitively answer as to why some units have two stickers and others dont? Every forum on multiple websites I have read through, everyone seems to be stumped. Also strange that no Atari employee has come forward with information regarding it. My theory is that is has something to do with the transition between the Heavy Six production and Light Six production. Looking forward to more great stories and photos from this awesome community! On an unrelated note, picked up a Atari Jaguar with some CIB games. Really enjoy the system!
  2. Cool. Thanks for the assurance! I have read that units with a silver sticker a top a white one are most likely refurbished units. But other people say its for units that were in production right when Atari switched production to over sea facilities. The bodies were built in Sunnyvale, but the guts and final assembly done in either Hong Kong or Taiwan. But no one has even the slightest clue on the double whites. Atari really made it quite a mystery. Would give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money. Although it surprises me that no former Atari tech has come forward and offered some information.
  3. Thanks! I really like the site. It only feeds my hunger for getting an Atari XE though
  4. Looks awesome man! It looks like it has the speaker holes still. It might be an earlier model than you think. And judging by the second picture with the Channel Switch hole, the board appears to be green. That is a definite indicator of a very early model. Question if you dont mind, how did you determine the date? By the date code on the RF Modulator?
  5. Guess I cant edit my other post... Anyway. As you can see from the photos, I cracked her open again, and took some photos. The date code on the RF Modulator is 7730. (30th week of 1977?). And the code on the bottom of the board is C010642 Rev5. With the "Rev 5" directly beneath the number. Tan board, with J stamped on it. So, is this a very late Heavy Sixer then? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  6. Edit to my previous post. Upon further inspection, mine has another sticker underneath. Both white. Does this mean its not a Heavy Sixer then? Any information would be extremely helpful. Thanks
  7. That Game Center thing is pretty cool man! Did not know Sears made their own versions.
  8. Actually, upon further inspection, it does have another sticker underneath. Does this mean its not a true Heavy Sixer? I cant seem to find much information on these double white stickers.
  9. No, it has only the original sticker. I have posted more details in the other Serial Numbers post. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/186498-the-official-atari-2600-heavy-6-switch-list/page-6
  10. NTSC/PAL/Sears/Special: NTSC Serial # (Ex: #54035V or #007649): 005750 MFG Location (Sunnyvale, Taiwan): Sunnyvale (Owner/AA Member), (Location= City, State, Country): Webster, Minnesota, United States A/B Channel Slot (Yes/No): No A/B Channel Switch (Yes/No): No Functional (Yes/No): Yes Notes (Previous owner, display only, white sticker, parts fixed, green connector, Switchboard/Motherboard Revision #): Just bought a Heavy Sixer today, and joined the site! The system was extremely dirty, but no dents, few scratches, etc. Cleaned her up, and she looks much better! Came with 2 first year joysticks, one does not work, and a set of Tennis paddle controllers. a few games as well. Each game came with its respective manual, and came with the 1978 and 1979 game shopping guides! Also the original AC adapter, User Manual and registration card came with it. All for $20 The RF cable was shot, so I simply unplugged it and put in the one I used for my 7800 . Works beautifully now. The Sixers really seem to have superior image quality, the color seems much richer. The board was really clean surprisingly. Seems completely original, appears to have never been opened before I did. As stated before, I had to replace the original RF cable, but I still have it. I did not look too hard inside, but the connector is green and white. If it means anything, one speaker hole is completely open, and the other partially filled. But no speakers are actually in the system. The people I bought it from seemed to be the original owners. The parents had bought it brand new in 1977, used it for a few years, and had it in storage for 30+ years. Although, bad storage. If you require additional information or photos, feel free to ask!
