  1. It looks like one listed in the AA archives : https://atariage.com/2600/archives/consoles.html It's the 128-in-1 System. It reads "This is a 128-in-1 system from Australia. This may be an officially licensed product."
  2. Any idea when we can get the Gauntlet cart from the AA store?
  3. I've been through the desert on a Norse with no name.

If you went through the whole desert without naming the horse, then that would be your problem.

  4. I've not had a problem with getting to their website at: http://ataribook.com/book/businessiswar/ But I see no updates; it seems dead as a door nail. Then I noticed that at http://ataribook.com/book/(which was for the Business is Fun book) or any other link from /businessiswar I get the same problem.
  5. I'm glad I found out about this Gauntlet project of yours, even if I did find it late in its development. On the plus side for me, that meant no waiting. Gauntlet always was one of my favorites since I discovered it in the arcades once upon a day. Thereafter, many hours spent on the game for C64 and NES, and I've not grown weary.
  6. I picked up several 7800 carts a while ago. The last one of the bunch I grabbed was Karateka for somewhat between $1.50 and $3.00. [More recently I bought a PS3 so the missus so she can play a game she's been wanting. Which, while not $599, is still enough to curtail my game buying for a while.]
  7. I've never gotten Fred to respond to a direct email or a PM on the AA forums. It seems this is a common issue, but if I am reading correctly, apparently he's more responsive on Facebook. And I plan never to use Facebook. However, I had no trouble at all when I actually ordered and soon thereafter received the Harmony cart. I recall seeing lots of thanks for the cart. from different people, and I don't remember any complaints about not getting it once ordered.
  8. Ah, I see now. I'll try using the bombs this weekend.

Dauber: I don't think anybody mentioned his taking any money heretofore. I believe "He should just offer money back if..." was hypothetical, meaning let them be sold with the understanding that there is a money-back guarantee.
  10. Alas, the reanimation of dead tissue is still outside our grasp.

  11. On a related topic, I have a question. I am sure this is answered somewhere in this thread, but I couldn't find it. How do we use the bombs? I'm playing it on 2600 hardware with a standard joystick; the fire button is obvious, but how do I engage the bombs? Thanks.
  12. Dec. 2006, followed by Aug. 2016. I think this counts as a necro-bump.
  13. I assume the plan is to have it available on the AA store. Yes?
  14. I never liked redemption machines myself. They tend to be boring. But that's just my opinion. Although I used to play a lot of skiball (one of the aforementioned games that is actually a game, not a dazzling, spinning whatsit giving cheap prizes) in hopes of collecting enough tickets to win an Atari 7800 from the prize counter. That wasn't a good move on my part: I couldn't get nearly enough, and buying one years later was a better investment. As to the money aspect, well I never had any disillusionment. Even as a kid, I understood the importance of capitalism.

dot dot dot Sometimes people have asked if there are updates on the project. But I'm asking: Is there's an update on Batari himself? I've seen no activity from him lately.
  17. Well, at least it's sorted, albeit the situation was nuts. As for all this speak of paranoia -- I think there's probably more paranoia of getting busted on a technicality than of actual terrorism, if this makes any sense. [There's a lot I can say about the missteps of the gummit, but I would rather not take the conversation back into that direction.]
  18. As the various replies suggest, it could be one of several issues; only troubleshooting will give the final answer. But I can give you my experience: My 7800 I recently purchased, sometimes it will apparently not work, but it's just that the cart was not installed fully. I can't speak for others, but on mine, the cart slot is a tight fit, and I have to work to make sure to push it all the way in so it functions. Whereas on my 2600, the carts go in easily and I do not have this issue.
  19. Not to be confused with ALGOR, which is an actual analysis / imulation package. http://www.algor.com/products/analysis_replays/
  20. I decided to play something new instead of just retro games, so I connected my N64 to the TV.

  22. Without me actually looking at the list, I am assuming that "I already own seven... getting 30 new games" means there are 37. At $200, that's $5.40 per. I have found lots of carts without boxes or manuals run about $5 +/- $1.50, so it seems fair to me, but it's no steal.
