    Best has something similar to this "B.E.'s Sega Controller to Atari Systems adapter cable": http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/quickguide.htm B.E.'s is cheaper. But how does it compare w.r.t. reliability, etc.? I do not know, as I've not yet used either B.E.'s or Edladdin's. I plan to get a couple.

      While I wait for the NX I am slowly transforming my original Wii into a all-in-one 8 & 16-bit gaming machine that can play nearly every game on almost every console from those eras with ___ to GameCube adapter cables to play them all with the original controllers. =)

    Seems a bit drastic, but do as you will. How often, you ask? Not enough. What with a wee kid, there's not much opportunity. But I do so when I can. As to exclusivity or not and why &c: It's because I happen to like my Atari games and my NES games too. As it so happens, my first* NES game was Gauntlet, which as you may know was made by Tengen, which makes it an Atari game. *I DO mean first. I did not actually get the pack-in game first.

    Vintage, aye, vintage. Our newest system is the Wii; whilst admittedly, not ancient, the point is my family and I are not excited about the Wii U and contemporaries. I've been focusing on Atari lately, with the exception of Sega Genesis cartridge I recently purchased. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/250617-s-factor-sonia-and-silver/ Actually, it's the first Sega Genesis cart I've ever bought; since heretofore it's just been Nintendo and Atari for me.

    I just got the S Factor: Sonia and Silver cartridge for the Sega Genesis*! Plenty of fun, that. After all this time, now there's a game with Sonia from Sonic Underground. It's the first Genesis game I've ever purchased - and it's a hack/homebrew to boot. (I've always been an Atari & Nintendo guy w.r.t. systems) It's tougher than the original Sonic game, I think. *Actually, I'm using the AtGames Genesis, and it plays it fine.

    We got a new flat-screen TV over the holidays. And the Atari picture quality is... just fine. I don't see the big deal.

      It's the input delay caused by modern TVs that is a problem. Play Centipede or Yars' Revenge and you'll see what I mean.

    I definately buy to play rather than just collect. Same with my model trains. I'm a user, not a box collector. For all that, I do like to use high value items, as I like quality; and I also value a box for the preservation and integrity of the item, but am more likely to buy a game that's missing its box. That's something called "abandonware" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware

    I've found if I use Harmony on my modded Flashback 2, the menu screen is very difficult to read due to the "flicker" described above; but when I use an original 2600 system, it looks great.

      Replaced the motherboard with one from Best for under $40. All internal electrical components included except the flex cable for reset & select buttons. I'll keep the old ones for spare parts.
