I was looking at the WOW pcb schematic. There is something odd that it does. It has a signal coming from another TTL chip a 74ls257 through a resistor network then goes to the Video signal right before the RGB pcb. It looks like it may be injecting the vertical blanking signal. If that's the case your pcb above would not work. Check the WOW schematic for yourself.Maybe it is injecting an overlay sprite too. I can't really tell what its doing yet. I was using discrete transistors to make the RGB for testing.

I started messing around with making a RGB mod. I got some pretty decent video already. Give me a little time and i'll post some pictures when I get it perfect.

Thanks for the info. The console works 100%.. One joystick needs work and the plastic cover that goes over where you store the games has had a small chip repaired, but other then that it is in really nice shape. I also bought 2 fairchild channel F consoles with about 20 games still in the boxes from the same guy. One of the units works fine. The other has some issues. Both have 2 joysticks. I gave $190 for the fairchild stuff.

I just bought this for $100.. Was it a good deal? At any rate now I can investigate an RGB mod.

So far this is all the consoles I can do RGB mods to (and yes they will look perfect) Coleco Adam, Intellivision, CreatiVision (a Japanese variant), Memotech MTX, MSX, Sega SG-1000/SC-3000, Spectravideo, Sord M5, Tatung Einstein, Texas Instruments TI-99/4 and Tomy Tutor/Pyuuta. Sega Master System, Sega Game Gear, and the Mega Drive I have only modded a few of those consoles as I don't have all of them.

What video chip does this use? I have a RGB mod that will work for this right now I think. I just don't have an astrocade to mod for demonstration though.

Is there any interest in an ADAM RGB mod service? The mod would be exactly like the Colecovision mod Yurkie is offering. If someone is interested in a possible trade for a fully working Adam PM me. I may possibly trade a RGB modded Intellivision for the right Adam. I have other stuff for trade too. Possibly trade a mod service for an Adam too. Let me know Thanks

All very possible, but with a parts INTY at about $20 it's not worth it for me to do all that work . Might be easier to rewrite or port the games for a different processor LOL.

Cool. Thanks. We should start a thread with symptoms and repairs. I just had one that the transformer got really hot and the game would come up 1 out of 4 tries. It ended up having an open diode on the power supply.

Swapped out the CPU and the unit worked perfectly.

Anyone have a busted up junker parts console. I have a really nice console with only a bad CP1600 (CPU). Also I have another one that needs a left side controller if thats decent on a parts console. I know fixer uppers go cheap on ebay, but I kinda cringe when I have to destroy one to make another one good. If someone had one that was physically busted or pretty much junk but good parts at least its better then wrecking another one that can be fixed. Thanks in advance.

Just a hunch, but you need 3.58mhz colorbust for color. Your pal system is sending 4.2mhz. Your TV just reverts back to the B/W standard. This is of course if you are using a NTSC TV.
