  1. wait, just realized how old this thread is, nevermind....
  2. I put up a proposal for a parkour side-scrolling atari 2600 game a while ago, I may have missed it, but it seems it isnt on the list. Just letting ya know. thanks. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/233098-just-a-cool-little-homebrew-game-idea/
  3. To tell the truth, I have no coding experience at all, but if someone out there who does have experience in making homebrews for the 2600 has an interest in making my idea a reality, I'd be extremely grateful. So this would be a side scrolling parkour game with platforms that start by changing color every 2.5 or so seconds. And each color that it changed to would give you a different ability. As the levels progress, colors change faster, and new colors/abilities are introduced. And you would need to time your jumps right so the ability you need is the one on the block at the time that you jump. Also, some abilities could give you advantages, and some could give you disadvantages. And, if you fall off the platform you would go back to your last checkpoint. if you had no checkpoints, you would restart the level. Controls: Fire - Jump Left/Right Joystick - Move Left/Right Down Joystick - Crouch (reduces sliding on light blue platform and completely stops you before sliding off the edge) Some good abilities: Yellow - Jump Higher Light blue - Gives an ice-like affect that makes you slide on platforms, but you also jump farther. Green - You stick to the side/bottom of the next platform if that is where you land Red - gives you a checkpoint on the block you are standing on Some bad abilities: Dark blue - Faces the player in the opposite direction (imagine how frustrating it would be to have this color show up when you're about to jump ) Brown - Makes the player considerably slower while on the platform so they can't get a running start. White - takes away a little bit of the back of the platform, taking away a little more each time it shows up, until the platform is completely gone and you fall. But of course, when you die and restart, the whole platform will be there again. (platform only starts losing parts if the player is standing on it) this is mainly to prevent the player from camping on one block. here is the link to a gif with a simple demonstration of the player using the high jump ability to get to a high up platform, but when the platform changes to light blue he has to crouch to keep from sliding off the edge, and then he quickly jumps to the last platform using the same light blue ability because it lets you jump farther. (the red block is the player sprite): http://gyazo.com/cd315e438b67dee3aa5418b1869ad0d8 P.S. If someone makes this game, all I ask for is credit for the idea
