For example, i myself buy reasonable Lynx package deals (i'm not too sure if that particular dealers' Buy-it-Now price is reasonable though) as i'm looking to hold Atari Multiplayer Competitions - therefore i just need LOTS of carts/comlynx cables/systems/etc. Once again, its all relative.

Do you know for sure (just wondering) According to my (limited) understanding with flash carts, you can save a game on it that you are working on, in this case Battlesphere. So, is there more room for other things/games or can you only have Battlesphere on this particular one until you wipe it off? He also stated that he wasn't sure if it was a working copy. Does this mean that the Battlesphere might not be working (properly) or that the Flash cart itself is stuffed?! And if the Battlesphere is not working, does that mean that this flash cart is useless Is there anything else that a flash cards can be used for? (cause they always tend to get quite pricey on ebay) Thanks in advance, Serblander

  5. Thanks Steve It's always nice to see where the people you are chatting to are from (especially when we're global). I hope more people continue to update their Location fields like you just did. Regards, Aleks

  7. Rocko wrote: Thanks I have posted this topic here (and in the ST forum) because there is more chance of finding fellow Atari collectors in Australia that play & collect for the Lynx & the ST. Although i primarily collect for the Atari Jaguar, i only know of 2 other people around here who have Jags (or even know what they are), and as it was never released in this country, i didn't think there was much point to posting it in the Jag forum. The story however is very different with the ST & Lynx's. It was rather popular Down Under so there is much greater chance of local users browsing either of these two forums compared to the others (not-withstanding the 2600 & 7800 - but i don't collect for these myself). Also, i posted here maily as i am VERY KEEN to find local Lynx collectors so as to organize regular comlynx comp's. I have 3 Lynx II's, lots of comlynx games (many doubles) & 7 comlynx cables (just bought 6 brand new comlynx cables today on ebay with buy-it-now for US $19.99)
  8. I think it would be a good idea if everyone filled out the Location field in their profiles so that we could see where everyone is from. This can be very usefull in finding fellow Atari fans in our local areas so as to get together for some competition fun. I don't know what its like in other parts of the world, but in Australia it is hard to find other Atarians to get together and play/trade/buy/sell/etc. Unlike the US & Europe, there are no real Gaming Shows, Jagfests ( ), etc. So, what do you guys think?

  11. Ahh... the memories... I got mine in early Feb 1995 from an import store in Melbourne called Sprint Electronics. Ever since i first heard/read about it in EDGE magazine (as well as the Aussie mag 'HYPER' - issue #2), i knew i HAD to get one, along with a complete collection. I had to take an engeneering job for a few weeks (pretending to want to become an apprentice there ) just in order to get some cash together to be able to afford it. I purchased a new import (USA) Jaguar for (AU) $500 along with 3 games: Alien vs Predator, Kasumi Ninja & Tempest 2000 (for $100 each), totalling AU $800 (and then i quit my test-trial at work ). Cybermorph - I really like this shooter and thought it was a great pack-in game. Totally different to any '3-D' game that i have ever played before. Alien vs Predator - There was NO Way i was getting a Jag without this game! I remember that it impressed the s*^t out of ALL my friends who saw it (and scarred the s*^t out of anyone who played it late... in the dark )! Kasumi Ninja - Umm... yes. $100 for Kasumi Ninja! I was (and still am) a Mortal Kombat II junkie and thought that this would appease my morbid lust for fatalities. Ok, so i was wrong (but i still played it quite a bit and clocked it in the end). Oh well, at least i still have (and use) my Kasumi Ninja headband! T2k - I ONLY got this one because of all the great reviews it got from ALL the mags. WOW! Was i in for a big surprise! This one ended up robbing me of my youth I still haven't clocked it - my key is on Level 63 but i cannot get the next save point as i have never passed Level 65 A month or so later i bought 2 more games before the store closed down: Iron Soldier - I loved this game! Just recently i got the sequel on CD (am finally getting the CD Add-On next week ) and also purchased IS3 for the PS1. Chequered Flag I actually really liked this game (after i had mastered the 'micro-thumb-twitch' in order to steer method) and had competitions with my friends for the fastest track times. This is ALL i had to keep me going for a long time! I have many fond memories from playing all the above mentioned titles, and love to play them still from time to time (esp T2k)! Now, with the help of eBay, i am finally realizing my earlier dream of getting all the Jaguar games and accesories so as to, one day, have the entire Atari Jaguar collection.
  12. Can anyone guess why i didn't bid on this one as soon as i saw it (in case you missed it): I emailed the guy and he was kind enough to drop it to the following: Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to check my e-mails before auction end!
  13. Thanks for the update davidcalgary29
  14. JagChris wrote: I agree with JagChris. I still have my collection of EDGE magazines, the reputed 'industry standard' computer/console mag (#'s 2-50). In the begining, they were very supportive of the Jaguar, but then turned on Atari. They seemed to only ever print negative articles and comments for anything to do with the Jaguar - no matter how good the game was. Plain bias! I also have a collection of the Australian 'Hyper' magazine (#'s 1-20+). From issue #2 they anounced and welcomed the Jaguar, but later on just ended up droping anything to do with the Jaguar. They were not as harsh though, and understandably, dropped their support for the Jag as Atari was drowning (DIE Tramiels DIE!!! ) and as the Jaguar never got released in Australia (it was only available as an import from a VERY few select places). I still have quite a few different games magazines that featured Jaguar games/hardware/news etc, and NONE of them came close to the bias that was to be found in EDGE magazine. I feel that this wide-spread bias directed against the Jaguar was one of the prominent reasons for its (commercial) downfall.
  15. Dude, that's way too funny! I wonder if the 'over-excited' family is included in the package?! They would be great to bring out at parties!
  16. Look at what i got for a meager AU $100 (US $73.30 / ₤38.92 / €58.96 - ok, ok SwedenLynxer... & 542.49 Kronor ): Atari Lynx II (x2 - both need minor attunements but other than that, work ok) Original power supplies (x2) Lynx II sun visors (x2) Lynx Cigarette lighter adaptor Comlynx cable Big Lynx Carry Case along with the following games: - Complete (box + game + mannual/booklet): Klax Ms Pac Man Pinball Jam Roadblasters Warbirds Zarlor Mercenary (2 complete copies) - Boxed (Box + game - no poster instructions): Bill & Teds Exellent Adventure (already own a CIB with mint poster ) Ishido (already own a CIB with mint poster ) Scrapyard Dog (don't have the poster-instructions ) STUN Runner (already own a CIB with mint poster ) - Loose carts: Batman Returns (x2) Every single box came in MINT condition! Well, i'd love to stay and chat but... i have to play! Play!! PLAY!!!
  17. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Gunstar I for one have always liked Cybermorph (and still do) and thought it was an awesome pack-in game (at least for that time). I remember that i too was impressed with the fact that you had total freedom in a smooth 3-D environment. It might not be mind-blowing to new gamers today, but over 10+ years ago it was quite refreshing (if not revolutionary).
  18. What a f*^%#@g c*%[email protected]#^*r (can you guess what the missing letters are boys & girls? ) I have NO choice but to get this long dreamt-of compilation. Two words - Gauntlet II & Mortal Kombat II (ok, so maybe more than 2 words ). I had always DREAMED of an arcade port of both Gauntlet II & MK II for my XBOX, but i never imagined, in all my wildest 'imaginings' that they would ever come in/on the same compilation. Add to this Wizard of Wor (i used to kill it with this game on my mates Commodore 64 back in the mid-80's) & Primal Rage (still after one CIB for my Jaguar), and, along with the other 16 games, how could you possibly go wrong NOTE: If they F*^#-*P any of the games i just mentioned (ESPECIALLY the 1st two!), i will be left with no choice but to auction off all my earthly possesions and put a price of that f*^%#@g c*%[email protected]#^*r's head!!!

  22. Speaking of Lode Runner ( ) & Eye of the Beholder ( ), does anyone know of any recent developments for these two AWESOME games? I would love nothing more to kill away the (work) hours than playing Lode Runner (& EotB) on my trusty Lynx II.
  23. Maarten Martens wrote: And in 4-Player simultaneous mode it's better still! You need a 4-P adaptor (it plugs in the RS-232 port at the back of the ST) so as to enable the multiplayer frenzy (originally got it for 4-P Gauntlet II ---> AWESOME!!!).
