  1. SauceCaptain wrote: Dude! $100 for a new CD Add-On! Please tell me where i can get a new one at that price I've been looking around for a new one but could not find any for under US $190.00 (convert this to AU$ & add the RIDICULOUS price of o/s postage... ) I've ordered one with games a few years ago from Telegames (US) for over AU $400.00, and i never got it!!! This makes me very reluctent to buy them at a high price from overseas. As i do not have a CD Add-On (yet!), I cannot comment on how good it is, but as Stephen Moss pointed out, if you're looking at long term'Jagging', then i think it's a must. As far as i know, all the new games coming out are going to be on CD, eg. Eerievale (please correct me if i'm wrong). As with the Pro-Controller, i think it is definately worth the investment. It feels better. It responds better. It plays better. Btw, I also have Fight for Life, and believe me, playing with the Pro makes ALL the difference. I even bought another ProController for the vs mode (and to have a spare of course  ). Good luck in deciding
  2. Hey Famicoman, you fergot to mention yours
  3. Just wondering, what are the best comlynx games available (in terms of gameplay & esp for competitions)? What are the most commonly linxed-up games (at Atari shows, Jagfests, etc.)? So far, i have played the following lynx games com-linked: Awesome Golf (with 3-link) I found this to be quite enjojable with a few buddies - good for comps Casino (2-link) Boooo-ring (IMHO ) Gauntlet: The Third Encounter (with 3-link) Yay! Gauntlet! I found this one most enjoyable (although not very good for competition play - better with co-op) Robosquash (2-link) Very enjoyable (and obviously good for comps) BEWARE: This title is only ever good in 2 player mode, ONLY!!! Super Skweek (2-link) Only ever played this link-up - quite a good little title i thought (but no comp contender) I'm dying to get & play the following com-lynxed: - Battlewheels - Chequered Flag - Jimmy Connors Tennis - Super Off-Road - Warbirds - Zarlor Mercenary What has been your experience with them? What is good here on the list? What needs to be added? Any/all comments & recommendations are greatly appreciated Thanks in advance
  4. John J (sound familiar ) this one i use with FPS' (esp on Halo link-up deathmatches when its 4 onto 1 - ie me )

  7. Man, I remember having to make the same choice but for me it was quite easy. What does it for me (gaming wise that is ) is definately multi-player games. Beating the AI drones is one thing, but beating (all) your friends... priceless! After having had a Dreamcast for a while, my friends and i became totally addicted to simultaneous 4-Player games (Power Stone 2, Toy Commander, Fur Fighters, etc). So when the XBOX came out (with built-in 4P ports), the choice was quite simple. As Sony opted for their 'tightass' policy (ie. having to buy a seperate 4P adaptor), we all chose to purchase XBOX consoles! So if you like multiplayer / link-up games, i would highly recommend XBOX! (i have now 2 XBOX's connected to 2 big screen tv's via a 10ft link-up cable, equating to constant Halo deathmatches! AWESOME!!!)
  8. Ok, this did start out as a rather good topic, but... Without getting all 'political' on anyone, i would like to make a few comments regarding some things that have been said, and i HOPE that no one gets offended as these are MY personal OPINIONS and nothing more! cobracon wrote: I personally thought that this was a good/valid point. If anyone wanted to know why any aspects of the game were done as they were, then who better to answer that that T-Bird? Trip_Cannon wrote: ditto cobracon wrote: I don't agree (just my opinion ). I have personally never experienced this on Atari Age, and have rarely ever seen it happen here - thats the reason i post on these forums ONLY! I have not (personally) found any other forums that has as many nice ( ), interesting ( ) and friendly ( ) people. Thats the reason i joined these forums (and came back to them). Atari_Owl wrote: I agree with Atari_Owl. I could not find any 'bitchin' (so far at least) but rather the opposite - people who were appreciative and offering their compliments (myself included  ). LinkoVitch wrote: I totally agree with LinkoVitch! And, if anyone is still awake... To get back to the original topic (what was it again ) killer app or sap or somethin?!... Well i have BattleSphere Gold, and while i have had it for almost a year now, i would not have played it for over an hour in total (admitedly, i 'took' 6 months or so off from 'Jagging' due to my final uni exams, and wanted to get into this game 'fully' when i finished everything and had more 'stress-free' time on my hands). Personally, i like this game quite a bit (well i have to don't i, considering i paid US $500 for it & a sealed Scatbox Deluxe ) but it is not one that keeps me coming back for gametime. For me, there is a BIG difference between a Very GOOD game (in terms of technical 'break-throughs') & a Very PLAYABLE game (highly addictive gameplay). Because bottom line is, when it comes gaming, it's the PLAYABLE games that keep you coming back for more. Raiden / T2k anyone?
  9. That looks pretty cool Good luck with the project
  10. Welcome aboard guitarmas The best place for CD Add-ons is probably ebay. While new boxed systems do carry a high price tag, loose ones with a few games are not that bad. Just watch out from where it comes from, as this will save you more money on postage. (& why aren't there any Jags for sale in Australia?! ) I've been watching them for some time now as i'm looking to get a new one myself. The problem that i have experienced with that on ebay so far, is that people end up paying A LOT more for it than for the same thing new from a store!
  11. I think it would be the Falcon, but i'm not sure - this is a question i was wondering myself! (I just hope somebody answers, soon)
  12. Distant Lands? Distant Lands???
  13. RJ wrote: Hehehe... i just how good the Lynx is - doing 'security' work now = playing the Lynx for $16/hr Looks like dreams do come true - always wanted to get paid for playing games!
  14. Besides the Jag ( ), i'm in to: Lynx (II) Dreamcast (1-4 multi-player games) XBOX (although i only seem to be playing Halo link-up at the moment) PS-1 & PS-2 (for some games) Atari ST (esp for the Power Pack games) Amiga 500 (1mb) (for GODS and SSI RPG's) I haven't played the GameCube, but it looks quite good (i'm thinking of maybe getting one of these, esp for the Star Wars games).
  15. Here is another (this one is in Hong Kong so you may pay more for shipping) http://www.lik-sang.com
  16. WOW! That looks awesome! Well done Carl! Looks like i'm going to have to place an order (for both #'s 1 & 2!) - esp now that i'm back into collecting for my Lynx as well as the Jag! Nice one!
  17. Oh... My.. GOD!!!... I can't believe how many of them are in their original, mint-looking boxes!
  18. Welcome aboard PheonixSoft, it's good to have another Atarian down this end of the world Out of the list there, I highly recommend: Bill & Teds Exellent Adventure California Games Chips Challenge (WARNING: Keep Away from your mum! ) Crystal Mines II However, as SwedenLynxer pointed out, it would be better to get this game along with the others he mentioned as a pack on ebay - it would only cost you about NZ $11 for 6 brand new shrinkwrapped games. Below is just one example of this bundle: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...8113368763&rd=1 I haven't played Roadblasters or Rampage (on the Lynx) but i hear that they're also very good.

  20. The Good More collectors to trade with (and show off your collections to  ) The Bad More competitors bidding on 'your' items on ebay - hiking up the prices The Ugly Retro games going up in price (if not skyrocketing from some vendors)
  21. I was wondering just the same. I want to get it for the FF games, but don't know if its any good. I undestand it was only released in Japan - so, are the games in Japanese only or in english?
