  1. Well I just picked-up two pre-owned titles: - Galaga: Destination Earth (i'm a bit dissapointed with this one - it could have been better) - N20 (I really like this one - reminds me of T2k ) xenomorpher wrote: I do indeed like AvP and will look out for those 2 games! I just love AvP on the Atari Jaguar - it's the ONLY game that scares the living s#@t out of me!!! (Btw, can't wait for the AvP movie to come out - August 2004 ) Atarinvader wrote: I think you're right. I still haven't seen another copy of this game available anywhere around here!
  2. While we're talking about potential, what about the Jaguar VR? I remember when I first saw the ads to come out that were promoting Virtual Reality for the Jaguar. This, for me, was the most eagerly aniticipated piece of history-making hardware to (almost) come out. I think if it did come out at that time, then Atari would have had something TOTALY unique that no other system or company could compete with! I do not remember why they canned it (apart from playtesters feeling nauseous after playing for a while ), but if they had perfected it & brought it into users' homes, then Atari's future would have been bright indeed! (IMHO ) What do you guys think???

  4. OK, I went and played both Chips Challenge & Super Skweek in order to jog my memory for better feedback, and... Chips Challenge is definately the go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow! Why did i ever not get more into this game? If u can only get one of the 2 games, then i strongly recommend Chips Challenge
  5. Hmm... haven't played either of them for quite some time (i'm still totally addicted to APB ). But I do remember that Chip's Challenge was more of a good brain teaser, but Super Skweek was a lot more fun to play (however, I only ever played that game linked-up)! I f you can afford it, then i do suggest you get both.
  6. Whoa! I likesy! How many hours did you spend on that little baby
  7. The biggest peeve for me is definately ruined games' boxs due to the damned stickers! If anyone cannot relate, just do the following to see what I mean: Step 1: Spend what seems like an eternity searching for a game you really want in the wild. Step 2: Miraculously find your sought after gem via divine intervention. Step 3: Gladly pay for however-much it costs. Step 4: You then call upon every shred of patience from within your being... slowly... SLOWLY... trying to remove the price sticker, gently & carefully, so that it dosen't rip. and then... just as you think you've managed to do a good job... *TEAR* Step 5: #*@%!!! AAAAAARGHH!!!!!!! Hmm... Atary Lynx anyone
  8. Thanks for your input guys So far, I've found three games that i really want to try out: Baldur's Gate 2: Dark Alliance Champions of Norrath The Adventures of Cookies & Cream I hope to rent and try before i buy, but if no store has Cokkies & Cream then i'm considering to just buy it. I know the type of gameplay to expect from the first 2 titles but Cookies & Cream sounds weird (in a good way). Has anyone played it? Is it worth the purchase?
  9. Thanks for the valuable tip  I just hope that they're still there by the time i get to them.
  10. Hmm... I have to echo the vote for Fight for Life, i always liked this little fighter esp the fact that you can 'absorb' your defeated opponents' moves Just a word of advice though, if you do opt for Fight for Life, then you better be playin with a Pro-controller - it makes a WORLD of a difference
  11. I haven't purchased any of them (yet) - they're the only ones available in the store for the lynx. I am thinking about purchasing Roadblasters &/or Power Factor - but I don't know much about them (esp Power Factor!!). Hmm... but now you got me thinking about Scrapyard Dog... Well, I'll just wait to see what the general consenus is, so... keep'em coming guys
  12. Are there any good co-op games (NOT FPS's) for the PS2 that anyone can recommend? I'm going to get Boulders Gate 2 but was wondering if there are any other worthy titles of a similar style?! Basically i'm looking for something like a 2P RPG or similar. Thanks in advance
  13. Arcade: Double Dragon Gauntlet II Mortal Kombat II Willow Atari St: Dungeon Master Gauntlet II International Karate + Amiga: Gods Atari Jaguar: Tempest 2000 Dreamcast: Power Stone 2 (multiplayer) XBOX: Halo (multiplayer / link-up) Dead or Alive 3
  14. I just revived my long neglected Lynx II with a new power supply & ... WOW! I forgot just how great it is!! Well anyway, I started looking around my area for some new games to buy (I have almost 40 now ) and found them to be VERY hard to come by. I did manage to find the following games (all secondhand but complete) for only AU $10 each (US $6.90 - £3.75 - €5.70 ): Batman Returns Dirty Larry - Renegade Cop Hydra Power Factor Roadblasters Scrapyard Dog (& about 10,000,000 copies of Ishido!!! ) What are these games like? Are any of these really good? Which one(s) should I get (if any)? Unfortunately, I can't spend too much money as I need to save in order to nurture my Atari Jaguar Any feedback (with your reasons behind them) will be most appreciated.
  15. - Crackdown - Double Dragon - Gauntlet II - Mortal Kombat II * - Shadow Warriors - Street Fighter II - Willow * At my local (now deceased) arcade, I somehow managed to strike a deal with the manager GET THIS: he gave me all the FREE credits I wanted on Mortal Kombat II in exchange for letting him know all the secret moves/fatalities/etc once I discovered them!!! Ahh... those were the days...
  16. Hmm... I never thought about the term 'Beat'em'Up' applying to only fighting games with multiple attackers, but, it does make sense OK, so: Favourite Fighting games: Mortal Kombat II (Arcade -Version 1.2) My ALL-Time fave Street Fighter 2 (Arcade) Karateka (Apple IIe - haven't played the Atari 7800 version) Favourite Beat'em'Ups: Shadow Warriors (Arcade) Double Dragon (Arcade) And last (but by no means least)... IK+ (Atari ST) But, how would you classify this one? Fighter or Beat'em'up??? Remember, you had to constantly fight 2 other fighters! (Hehe... this should be interesting )

    flashback

I have both games, but much prefer Raiden. With Flashback (while quite an enjoyable game) I find that I have to be in a certain 'mood' to play, but with Raiden... well, I'm always in the mood for a little Raiden action Besides, Raiden is one of those rare games thats blessed/cursed with the "just ONE more go!" syndrome.
  18. WHOA!!! Thanks (again) cobracon! I just hope that there's one left by monday morning when my pay goes through
  19. GREAT WORK cobracon! Just received my combo pack in the mail today! WOW! Very professional! I love the packaging! The cover is terrific! The choice of the DVD cover is fantastic! The gameplay... well... i don't know. (yet!) I think it's about time i get the CD Add On Btw, why is it that whenever i set out to bid on a new CD Add On from GOAtari on eBay, it always seems to go for well OVER their regular store price for the unit?!
  20. Nubian, Super Hang On is a good little racer, spent quite some time playing it! Bombjack is a pretty fun game - lost some time on this one too In the end, it dosen't matter as much weather or not the games push the machine to the limits (although its always nice  ) - what really matters is that YOU like it! If you tell us the types of games you prefer to play (racers, adventure, etc.) then it will be easier for everyone to more accurately recommend the right games for you. Serblander.
  21. Ahh... yes, Wipeout. That was one of the first ever games i played on the PSX along with Street Fighter Aplpha. Btw, I just picked-up a pre-owned SF Alpha the other week ($40 AUD) - it took me MONTHS to find ANYWHERE! (went looking all around Melbourne as well as the net) - is this game rare or merely well sought after?
  22. Thanks for your input guys I inherited Final Fantasy VII & VIII when i got the PSX and have just started on #VII (so far so good!) I think i'll buy the second-hand Syndicate Wars, it looks pretty good and it's quite cheap (i'm just a sucker for 4-player games!!!) Now to save up some cash and hunt out the other titles
  23. I have recently aquired a PS1 from my girlfriend ( ) as she no longer uses it (she now has a PS2). As i have always been an Atari player, i have no idea as to what type of worthwile games are available for the PS1. I have a few games that i enjoy playing on my Jaguar that have a similar counterpart for the PS1. I was wondering if it is worth getting Syndicate Wars and Raiden Project for the PS as i have Syndicate and Raiden for the Jaguar. I'm also trying to find Iron Soldier 3. Has anyone played these games? Are they worth the purchase? I am also looking for any of the following genre of games: Shoot'em'ups such as R-Type, Raiden, 1942, etc. Any available? Any good/engrossing RPG's (like the old school SSI AD&D masterpieces) or similar. Thanks, Serblander
  24. Iron Soldier & Iron Soldier II As far as memory serves, i'm sure they're both Jag exclusive (with Iron Soldier 3 being available only for the Playstation & NUON)
  25. Yeah, and about a dozen others! Man, how to fit them all into 7? Crackdown JUST missed out. Anyone remember that gem? I thought it was a rather good arcade conversion. I loved playing 2P split-screen with my buddy! I wish there were more split screen games available
