  1. RPG's are my favourite genre of games (the old-school games like SSI AD&D games of yesteryear) (along with multyplayer/link-up games) but I haven't played Ultima yet. Personally, the best Fantasy Adventure RPG that I have ever played is Wizard's Crown on my trusty ST. I'm still searching for the sequel (The Eternal Dagger) for my 65XEGS but am having a hard time finding it. It only ever seems to come up on eBay when I'm high-bidding on some Jag stuff. By the way, when I do get it, will it work on the 65XEGS? I know it's for the 800XL but I don't know if it will be compatible, or if I have to get myself another console for a single game.
  2. OK, are you ready? Cause this is gonna be a long one. The following is a list of all the 8-Bit RPG's that I know of. Most of these are of the Fantasy Adventure genre, but some are Sci-Fi, etc. These are RPG's and not the regular Adventure games like The Dark Crystal, Ulysses and the Golden Fleece, etc. Enjoy. (D) = 5.25" Disk © = Cassette (K) = Cartridge SSI games: Gemstone Warrior (D) Phantasie (D) Phantasie II (D) Questron (D) Wizard's Crown (D) The Eternal Dagger (D) (sequel to Wizard's Crown) Epyx: Gateway to Apshai (K) and (D) Morloc's Tower (D) Rescue at Rigel © Star Warrior © Temple of Apshai © and(D) Upper Realms of Apshai (D) Avalon Hill: Empire of the Over-Mind © and (D) Nukewar © Quest of the Space Beagle (D) Telengard © Voyage I © Electronic Arts: Age of Adventure (D) The Seven Cities of Gold (D) Others include: Autoduel (D) (Origin Systems Inc.) 3. Happy_Dude, what game is it anyway? What Atari's do you collect then?
  4. I hear ya Gunstar As I've always been a die-hard Atari user myself I have had years of experience with this as well. From 65XEGS STFM Lynx Jaguar, and it has followed me all the way. Here it was always the battle b/w Atari VS Amiga, & Atari always seemed to get the short end of the stick. Too much bias against atari (ESPECIALLY the Jag) from pretty much all the mainstream mags. Like yourself, I have never regretted owning Atari's. In fact, the feeling of being the underdog made me appreciate Atari even more! While I have also added an Amiga 500 (& XBOX) to my collection, nothing gives me greater joy than when immersing myself in any of my Ataris, esp. the single player games. I just hope to meet other Jag fans here so as to get together occasionally and experience a mini JagfestOZ, as making it to previous Jagfests overseas is quite difficult when you live at the other end of the world. Who knows, maybe it will make it here one day (I know, I know, but a man must hold onto he's dreams)
  5. I have the feeling that being a Jag collector in Melbourne/Australia is akin to being an endangered species like the Jag itself. Every time I happen to mention it, I get a strange "Have you been taking your medication?" look. Apart from myself and my close buddy, I have not heard of any other collectors here so I was hoping to hear from any others.
  6. Another game is Legend of the Sword, I have the original but could never solve it Cannot even find hints or tips on the net. Can annyone help?
  7. Wizards Crown, arguably the best RPG game ever made (SSI)
  8. Unfortunately my forte is fixing people, not machines but I wouldn't mind having a link to the pic as my friend could do it. Anyhow, I need to get at least one more Jag for networking purposes as I'm dying to check-out BS:G in the near future. But I think might need to keep an NTSC as I just got Dragons Lair CD and I heard it only works on that format(?) But if I'm converting it to PAL anyway would it still work? (Can't test it out now as I do not have a CD add-on just yet).
  9. Greetings friends , As this is my first post I would like to begin by saying Hi to all you great guys'n'gals at AA. This is by far the BEST forum that I have come across on the net. I was just wondering if its possible to network NTSC & PAL Jags together? As I live in Australia (Melbourne) I have an imported U.S. NTSC console which I purchased here when the Jaguar was first released. As such, I have to have an annoying converter attached to the back which modifies it to PAL. I'd like to get a PAL Jag so I can discard with the converter so as to make room for connecting a catbox/scatbox to the back, but I don't know if the different systems will network properly together. Does anybody know?
