  1. Ok, so i'm having problems getting my Skunkboard (Rev 3) to be recognized by my PC (XP)! Tried around 5 different USB/mini cables: nothing. Went out and bought a USB hub as well as an external power source for it, and $45 later: nothing! Skunk works on the Jag (green screen and both Up and Down choices), just whenever i turn the Jag on there is no prompt to install the drivers :???:

Is there any type of guide showing the operation of a Skunkboard - especially the initial set-up part? Tried googling the crap out of teh internets and YouTubes but nothing, apart from reviews and general info. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! i've been hanging to try out Rebooteroids and test it out on various Jags!

  2. Let me know what they are. I'm having a print meeting in the near future and if I can make these available for people at a reasonable price I'd love to do that. I am also likely to finally get around to doing proper boxes for Brett Hull Hockey & Arena Football. I also hope to have manuals available for BHH for those that have the CD version too, just to complete it. I am also looking at re-runs of my Space War 2000 set with overlays and Barkley Shut up and Jam.

HA! If you make 'em i'll take 'em ALL as i have none of what you have just mentioned! :D

  3. Great question belucid and something i've been thinking of more and more lately. Would be great to know. I could also do with a new printer so right now i'm looking at one that would print awesomely to disc, like akin to the quality of J.E.P. discs releases! That, combined with good material for new game/newly created fan overalys (WITH a way to recreate the dimpling) and 'She'll be Bonza!'

  4. So... Rebooteroids...

First off, please accept my deepest condolences. While i normally practice 'Safe Playing' i will raise a glass to your dad before i play my first game.

Second, thank you to all involved for opening the testing phase to all the fans. I think i can safely speak on behalf of all Jaggy lovers when i say: Much appreciated!

Now, in regards to testing, as soon as i get a chance i will try it out on my Skunkboard (Rev 3) across a mix on the following models:

    PAL - K

    NTSC - K

NTSC - M  ONLY if i can get it going again! I tested all of my Jaguars last week and after a few cleans the M model still keeps Red-Screening! If anyone's got some real good cleaning/fixing tips for this, please let me know (or link to a good guide if known).

...It works fine under Virtual Jag on the Mac (for what little that's worth). I noticed a couple of times I thought I'd destroyed all asteroids, but there was one floating horizontally right at the top / bottom of the screen. Dunno if that will come into play at all with overscan or however it all works on CRTs. Once I swear I went through the bullet from a satellite, but I could've just been arsey and got escaped at the last second. No other notable issues at this stage.

    ...

skip, on the Virtual Jag, are you playing it in NTSC or PAL mode? If NTSC then try putting it on PAL before you load it up. This reminds me of a similar experience i had not seeing something with Downfall when i first tested out the Virtual Jag (Mac) the other day. Maybe it will work in your case too? :)

  5. If any Mac users want the binary/package of the latest build, just let me know. I'm also happy to compile any official release versions as well.

Thank you very much! :) I would love to! The only thing is, i have no idea what the hell you are talking about!? Total N00b here when it comes to any sort of emulation and even moreso emulation-speak. I think i just want whatever version for the Mac will play the prettiest and bestest form of Superfly DX ;) Jag area is still in the works but now i discovered a great 'One more go!' addiction that i must squeeze in whenever i can! Thanks again for the kind offer :)

This is a dangerous game. A very dangerous game... the one more factor is a KIlLER! Here's me, loading it up for the very first time for a Participation Point, and God knows how long its been after the first try, I'm still playing, and it's 13 minutes past midnight, and i get up at 5am for an 11 hour shift. This is a very dangerous game.

  7. Thanks to some totally Awesome Atari Age members, i finally got to experience this game (in general) and Virtual Jaguar (specifically) on my Mac :)

That means, apart from discovering this game that i will probably need a Group Intervention in order to stop playing, i also get another Participation Point! :-D

  8. To summarize, to make VJ working under Mac OS X.10 and above you need:

    ...

Thank you so much for that! For an Emulator-virgin like myself that was of immense help!

I just loaded it up before and played Downfall for the first time. LOVED IT! Only problem no sound on the emulator on my MacBook Pro - will need to load it up on my Skunkboard methinks ;)

Also, BIG Thank You to all who were involved with bringing this to the rest of us, especially us gamingly underfed MACians! :)

  9. Not one vote!? :D

OK, so whenever i checked this thread it keeps resetting to Vote or View Votes manually, so as i got tired of that, i just played a game of each

I voted for Sensi Soccer. It plays a bit better for me, i see a bigger playfield, have some better control over the ball and prefer the background 'crowd noise'. Also, still pissed at Fever Pitch on Jaguar only having 2P « the Mega Drive version i have supports up to 8 players! (albeit a weird turn based version), so Sensi all the way! ;)

  10. You accidentally bend or mangle some pins in the cartridge port? Even if not, it's pretty well known how finicky the CD attachment is. May want to try cleaning and reseating both ends of the bridge connector in the CD unit itself. Needs a little maintenance from time to time...

I don't think so, as the same CD player works everytime loading properly on specific Jags while not on some other Jag's.

I can attest to this, as very recently my working Jag CD flat out refused to play nice with my Jaguar (which was also being picky when I tried to play Raiden with a friend). Cleaned the connectors on both, still nothing from the CD. Took it apart and cleaned both ends of the connector and the slot it goes into, came right back to life.

Ya i had the same problem CD player refused to play.I had to take it apart and clean and refasten everything and it perked right back up .

I think for you guys it was just a clean that did the trick as it didn't play before but did afterwards.

In my case, not one but TWO Jag CD units will not play on three specific Jaguar consoles but WILL play on the three other different Jaguar consoles - always the same ones.

    I just can't make sense of it!! :? :???:

  11. While checking my Jag gear i came across a strange/annoying thing: plugging the Jag CD player on some Jaguar's work, but when i mount it ( ) on some other Jaguar base units it doesn't work - the screen shows that either:

    a) the power isn't plugged in

    b) tries to spin but doesn't

    c) that dreaded ?mark taunting me

When I turn the system off, mount it ( ) on another Jaguar and it works every time i turn it on. So far works on 3 Jaguar consoles and doesn't work on another 3 consoles (though one of those is a Dev unit). I've also tried my spare CD player and same results on the 3 that worked and 3 that don't.

I've tried cleaning the contacts (Jag base unit cart and A/V as well as Jag CD) and still nothing.

Tried opening the door/lid and playing around with it, nothing (though when it didn't spin this makes it spin but question mark comes up after a while).

Tried plugging a cart (without the cd unit) and it works fine.

Does anyone know what the problem may be or can offer any suggestions? I've lost too much time on this trying to figure it out all night but to no avail!

Oh yeah, and now my only M model Jag is red screening all the time - cart and CD, so that's just bloody great! ( <--- Mad Body)

  12. Serby, if you want a set, I can mail them without customs getting involved.

Hell, I can even sign them so you can sell them for $1400 each and buy yourself a shitty car :P

$1400? That's just the postage savings from not getting it outside of Oz!

I would be most grateful! I've especially been hanging to play Kobayashi Maru! In any case, would love to use any of them at future expos/events

  13. Please don't go mad and spend more than they are worth trying to win the auction. I have a couple of sets and if you miss out on this one there will be a couple more.

If all the monies made go towards further Jag dev stuffs then it's well worth going mad, on this AND the other auctions! ;)

Just my devalued AUD .2 cents worth(less).
