  Something to be said for having a ladder to climb, though. If your current employer won't match the other offer, and you aren't salary-capped for other reasons, that's a sign that things might not improve.
  
  On the other hand, the fact that they had to go knocking on doors of people who weren't looking, that's a rad flag too ... what's wrong with that position that they can't attract someone via normal recruitment?
