  1. Red Sea Crossing 78600 If anyone is wondering the game just loops after a certain number of screens. This, for me, coincided with the sun reaching the right side of the screen, at least that's when I noticed that I was back the first screen again. There are a set number of novel screens and it seems like each can be successfully crossed without loss of life or points, some just require lots of patience. I assume the game just loops forever until you get 999999, or maybe the score rolls as well. I was getting pretty tired when I broke 70K, but once you master the screen with the big snake and the eels and the small zigzagging snake with the eels I assume you can pretty much play forever.
  2. Does anyone have a scan of the manual for Red Sea Crossing? Was there a manual for the game? I searched the other posts about this game, but did not see any information about a manual.
  3. I'm still getting stuck in the playfield a lot, sometimes my feet, but more often my nose. This makes a lot of the platform jumping much harder than it should be, particularly since you cannot jump if your nose is stuck in the wall. (see pics) Getting past the thing in the wall that shoots at you is unnecessarily difficult. Jumping is much improved since the switch to the button, but some jumps are still virtually impossible (escaping the lower pit after getting the herb on the collapsing bridge, this I cannot do). The collapsing bridge in the dark room is a little cheap. Unless you know it's there, that's pretty much instant death, sometimes several. Even when you know it's there it's not always easy to make that jump. I cannot get past the hand of god dropping blocks. One hit from the block is instant death and the speed of the drops is incredibly fast. If you have to use those blocks to climb up, I'm not sure how to get past this room. Clearly someone earlier in the thread was able to beat the game, but I don't see how they got past this screen. I am also getting a weird image on the title screen (I'm using Stella), that makes the words almost unreadable. Have you been able to test this on actual hardware? Is this just an emulation issue? (see pic)
  4. Red Sea Crossing 51900 I was SO close to the end of the day!
  5. Yes, that is one of the most devious ones. Walk over the first eel (?) and position yourself in the center of the screen, but maybe just slightly to the left to avoid contacting the snake. (turn your back if you are nervous, in the game not in real life, that would be bad). You'll have to wait until the movement of the snake and the right eel line up just perfectly. Ideally you want a situation where the snake is about to move up as the eel is moving down. It really helps if the snake stops its upward movement half way and pauses to give you time to get clear, otherwise just book it to the right as fast as you can. You cannot rush this. You must wait until the movement of the two enemies aligns. The snake moves very fast so that pause will help, but don't be surprised if you get clipped by the tail. There are two, maybe three, of these screens that I have encountered in the game. They are pretty spread out though. They tend to claim most of my lives, although some of the ones with the zigzagging snakes and eels can be equally maddening.

  7. Cool. Thanks guys. I'll probably check it out then. I need a new gaming experience.
  8. Since OJ had Isotoners/Don't act like I never told ya

  9. Ok, so I can play this on my own, I don't need additional players?
  10. Rabbit Transit 96254 Those rocks start falling stupid fast and the patterns in the field become extremely tricky.
  11. Can someone explain what this game is to me? I realize that I sound like a moron, but everything I try to look up about it presupposes a familiarity with modern gaming that I just don't have. It says it's like Dynasty Warriors, but I have no idea what that is. Is it a single player game, or is it like Four Swords where you have to have multiplayer? Is it an adventure game? A dungeon crawler? Do these distinctions even apply to modern games? For reference, the most modern games I have played are Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, and the newest Kirby game. If it came after the PSone or wasn't on the Wii, I missed it entirely. I'm a huge Zelda nerd and want to be interested in this game, but I have no concept of what it might be.
  12. 32971 I couldn't break 32K for the longest time. Gotta get a good shield configuration if you wanna get the big points. Brilliant game.
  13. Wow Justice League was bad. Bad.

I'll see it eventually. But now I've heard good and bad...Obviously I'll make up my own mind.

Just terrible. I laughed for like 10 minutes when Batman's jaw dropped as Superman showed up at the final battle. He loves him so much.

  14. Dammit Leto, you said you were concentrating on one game at a time. Go play Wabbit or something. Almost made it to the end of the day in Red Sea Crossing. Wonder what happens then...? 45100
  15. Fantastic, but I couldn't have it in my house, it would be completely destroyed in like 30 seconds. Someone would drop it, or the dog would step on it, or I would get mad at Wabbit and kick it. It's why we can't have nice things...
  16. Now, I'm REALLY playing catch up! You Rabbits are too good! Rabbit Transit 77116
  17. Bad cover band covering U2. This is a lower circle of Hell isn't it?

I honestly heard my first ever U2 song from a cover band. Then again this was 1981/82 or something.

  18. Rabbit Transit 59428 Slight improvement as I play catch up to Leto.
  19. Death Trap 32067 I really like this game. Lots of strategy and I have no idea how you get a high score, but it's fun to play.

  21. Is there anything like instructions for Red Sea Crossing. I have the fundamentals down, but I have no idea what the yellow swarm does or why sometimes I do not die when I touch evil animals.
  22. Please keep going. These are great! Games like Grand Prix are great for the very reason you mention. In introducing Seamus to the Atari it was a real hunt for games he couldn't lose at. The Sesame Street titles were obvious winners, but they require the keypad and that's its own thing. Sorcerers Apprentice was an early favorite because the game doesn't present many actual enemies to fight, just stuff to do. Right now these are the games in his rotation (keep in mind he's 5, but honestly there's not too much of a shift since he's 3): Donkey Kong Q*bert (a longtime favorite) Ms. Pac-man Sneak n Peek Pressure Cooker (he just likes to run the chef around and let him get pelted with vegetables) Swordquest Fireworld (again, lots of consequence free mini-games) Sorcerer's Apprentice HERO Slot Racers (a great two player option he likes to play with me) Maze Craze (good for one or two players, no death) Cookie Monster Munch Alpha Beam with Ernie Mario Bros. Dig Dug Fast Food (BURP cracks him up)
