  1. Are you suggesting that you just sit in 1910 and farm the non-boss planes? The rule used to be no farming, but I don't know what the current rules are. For the sake of sanity and having a life, I would suggest this is the least effective way to get a high score.
  2. Can't play Wizard of War, the right joystick port on the VCS doesn't work. So I guess I'll have to get a lot better at Time Pilot. The HSC was the first place I played Time Pilot a million years ago, so it feels very natural to be at it again, only this time I have the actual cart! 16400
  3. Justice has been served. Couldn't happened to a more miserable tool.
  4. Looking good! Personally I would like it if the bullet were a little bigger. I'm very old and seeing that tiny dot is not as easy as it used to be. Also, I agree that you want a better determinant of enemy movement, because once I figured it out, it was ducks in a barrel time! Also, I made it to this screen! Did I win? Keep up the great work!
  5. You've got two "i's" in "friend." Excited to get my hands on a bin for this and an instruction sheet! Very exciting and interesting concept!
  6. Surprisingly Cookie Monster has some good variations that are fun even for me to play as a grown up. My son loves Cookie Monster so it's an easy sell, but it's also challenging without being manic. The Teddy Bear variations on games like Ms. Pac-man seem about right to me as well. My guy also loves Sneak n' Peek and Maze Craze. Both are good, take your time, games.
  7. Thanks for sharing your stories! I'm currently exploring the world of gaming with my 5 year old and he loves games from every era. Anything he sees me play, he wants to try. It's been a real joy sharing this with him. Here's to many more years of gaming!
  8. Ferrelgas has refilled our tank in 24 hours. My existing gas company couldn't get that done in 10 days. Time for a change

We don't own our tank either. Propane around here is going for $2.20/gal. Summer fill prices are about half that.

Oh yeah, they get you in the winter months, don't they. Was your normal propane supplier dicks about you filling up with someone else?

No, actually they were totally cool and helped get the paperwork over swiftly to approve the fill. It was the best customer service I ever had from them, sadly.

  9. I really like the concept, but there needs to be more impetus to move the player and not the maze. This really doesn't become important to the game play until level 6 when the gaps are so narrow that you are often better moving the player. For all other levels, as soon as I get the player away from the edge of the screen I just move the maze around until I get the star. Level 6 isn't impossible, just really really touchy and borderline annoying. Could the player start at a different position on the screen for each new maze? (upper middle, bottom left, etc.) If you want to flesh it out, points can be awarded for speed of completion, or additional power-ups found along the way to the star. There could also be negative power-ups that freeze the maze in place for 2-5 seconds or make the maze invisible, etc. You could have levels where the star moves to a new location after X amount of time. Loads of potential here with a good core foundation to build upon.
  10. Our propane tank is empty and the propane company is out of gas with no timetable for more. Hooray winter.

That sucks! This is our first year using propane. Have (2) 1000 gallon tanks though and have been keeping a passive eye on them. Filled up in fall (cheapest time to do it) Checked last week and the 1st tank was down to 15%. 2nd tank still 80% full, but yeah, gotta keep your eyes on them! Takes a week after calling, for them to come out.

I love paying thousands of dollars for propane all winter long, it's great fun!!

I called 15 days ago for a refill. They never bothered to say they didn't have any gas.

  11. Right now, for me, the game is too slow and there isn't much challenge. If the game moved faster you could add power-ups to slow the action down a bit, or become invisible for a brief period. Not sure how to implement, but a power-up that could hinder the other player? Also, since the score is also slow, bonus point power-ups would be great. Currently when you lose all of your lives, the game just keeps going. I think the final branch should take the monkey off the tree and the remaining monkey declared the winner.
  12. Trying to adjust to the Minecraft controls on the Switch. Missing the 360

  13. Also in the "color bad" camp. Thematically this game actively avoids color, so using as an effect has much more power.
  14. Wrapping up Mario Odyssey tonight. Good times

That's one game that almost makes me wanna buy a modern console :)

It's worth it if you like Mario 64. It's like a beefed up version.

  15. 116000 NORMAL Battlezone is 80% luck 20% skill. That's how I can get 39K in one game and 116K the very next game. It all comes down to which targets appear and where and if they get off fast enough cheap shots on you. As said before backing up is the best strategy there is. Also, I try to keep the pink UFOs on the screen in later levels to eat up radar space so the tanks can't gang up on me. I've beat my personal high score already so I've likely peaked this week.
  16. Yeah, far as I can tell, close range = death. If they are in the distance I back up and turn hard then throttle forward. If I'm lucky then the shot goes glancing by. My luck sucks.
  17. My BONUS score was better than my regular score, so I am submitting this for BOTH. 65000. That puts me near my best already, so this will be a short week for me...
  18. Thanks oyama! Nice to be back. Let's hope I can go the distance...
  19. That's a fascinating concept for a game chunk!
  20. 74400 Thanks to the new guy for reading the manual.
  21. Awesome! Glad to see you are back at it!
  22. I'm tired of "good news" just being that nothing bad has happened today.

  23. That's a standard plague doctor's mask circa 14c. But it also looks a lot like Spy vs. Spy
