  1. Finally got a chance to play. Love the main character sprite! Jumping can be a little unforgiving in spots leading to some cheap deaths, but overall the game play is fun. I like the variety of enemies and play fields. Kind of surprised to see it has an end. Can you keep playing past the end, i.e. repeat with higher difficulty?
  2. The left side safe zone is a known thing and if I recall correctly it doesn't work with the black and white dragons.
  3. Swordquest #5 is as good as the other 4. Which is really sad. http://electricfrankfurter.blogspot.com/2017/11/swordquest-comic-its-over.html

Wow... that looks like garbage. Thanks for reading it, so I didn't have to. (I wouldn't have anyway... but the sentiment is there.)

I took the hit for everyone on this series. It wasn't just a bad Swordquest comic, it was a bad comic told poorly.

Makes me ill the waste of potential this all was.

  4. Yeah, since inception this thing felt like "catch up to Marvel" rather than create a great superhero story/film. After the travesty that was Man of Steel and the snore-fest that was Batman v. Superman, I'm confident this one will wait until I can borrow it on DVD from the library. And as long as the characters are compelling and well written, you don't need origin stories for them. Let's face it DC characters (especially the classic ones) have the most boring and flat origin stories out there, Bats and Supes being the only two with anything of substance in them, and only then because modern writers helped them out. So I don't need to know what Aquaman's whole deal is if he's interesting in and of himself. As a matter of fact, making the introduction of the character fascinating might make me want to see more of the character including his origin. I think we are at a point in general comic book literacy in our culture, where we know who Spider-Man, Hulk, Superman, Batman all are. We know their stories. So let's just have great adventures with those characters and if you need to fill in back stories here and there to explain something, do it on the fly. The last thing anyone needs is one more Spider-Man origin retelling.
  5. Scored 15pts on Trick Shot tonight! For me, that's really good. Trick Shot is hard.

I have a cart I think but have yet to play it...

  6. Logan was incredibly good. Second only to The Wolverine in terms of handling the Logan character properly. But it's not a fun, happy movie, so go in knowing. Great Thor review. Pretty much how I feel about the movie.

That's one of those games that I never beat but always meant to get back to. I really should some time.

      Love Infocom games, great walkthrough

  7. I'm getting close to finishing. I need to be smarter with my cloud fruit collecting. I haven't found any secrets that I am aware of. Any hints?
  8. I think this is a strong concept and franchise and I think you could build a really solid line of games from it.

  9. BitQuest is where it is at. Nothing wrong with the other games, but BitQuest is the one that would be in my collection if it were released on a cart. Definitely wants a manual though. Sometimes I kill enemies and they drop a dot, sometimes this dot restores a heart (love the health meter) sometimes it does not. Can snowmen be killed? I was unsuccessful. Occasionally while killing an enemy I get an extra long SFX but am not sure why or what it means. Sometimes while wandering the world, just slashing my sword for the fun of it, the game makes a sound like I've vanquished an enemy when no enemy is present. Wherefore? I wish some of the gaps were a little bit bigger to make it less frustrating to fit through. Love all the sprites. Love the dungeons. Love the landscapes! Love the ending! BitQuest is for real. Well done!
  10. Agreed. After the release of the Strange Red Tree, I am definitely looking forward to more adventures with the Gizzle Wap!
  11. I love the new bolder graphics and colors! I LOVE what is going on in the crypt and the new boss is crazy looking. I love it! Everything just keeps getting better and better! You may want to reconsider having the health mushrooms respawn in the rooms. This makes it a little to easy to totally refill your health at any given time. Does the priest do anything? I went in with full health (see above) so maybe I missed his effect. Is the extra axe-knight in the cave supposed to give you anything or is he just for fighting? Nice to see the elf again! Thank you for letting us be a part of this process. The game is great and it's a lot of fun watching it come along. I had the earlier versions memorized so it's kind of like a new game each time you update and change stuff around!
  12. Well, crap. There goes the rest of my weekend!
  13. Finally found the ship! I think this is a good start to what could be a really nice game, it just seems a little empty right now.
  14. Visually this game is very impressive. This is exactly what I would expect a Legend of Zelda games to want to look like on the VCS. I love all the backgrounds and landscapes. Fantastic. The game play is a little flat. With no apparent power-ups, the game becomes a process of "avoid the enemy and find the win." I'm not sure if the button does anything. It seems like I just run into the enemy until one of us dies. I've yet to find the ship to escape, but I've roamed a lot of map. I am hoping the location is random. It just seems a shame to have such a lush and fantastic world and have it only populated by you, the enemy, and the ship, but maybe that's the charm. I'll keep playing and see if I can find the ship.
  15. That's pretty hilarious. 2600 Homebrew commercials! We have arrived. Wish they had provided purchase info...
  16. Issue #4 is out? It wasn't in my holds last week? Is it coming out this week?
  17. Yeah, I think Scott posted about this on the FB Homebrew page. Aimee is big into board games so she's going to scope them out. I hope they are good. A really good Swordquest board game would be AWESOME. Could you imagine? A game for each world and then maybe all 4 games can be combined into one HUGE game. If they were good, I'd lose my mind.
  18. I seriously doubt the person who wrote that Amazon listing has the slightest clue about what Swordquest, comic or game, actually is. But I could be wrong, and reprinting something for fan service is a lot different than creating something from scratch. And I can promise you, that new comic, is a fan disservice.
  19. That Airworld comic is pretty much going to be a dream. They can't include something that doesn't exist and no one involved with the project has anything archived about it, so it would have to be built from the scratch, and there is no reason, other than fan service, to make a comic for a game that doesn't exist. About 15 years ago when they were trying to get Airworld going again, Aimee did a TON of research on the comic, but there just wasn't anything to be found. I remember doing plots with her trying to write the final chapter, it was a lot of fun, but ultimately died on the vine. So yeah, it would be cool, but there's nothing to be had and no incentive to create it out of nothing. Still it's very nice to have a collected edition of the originals. That George Perez art is as good today as it was then!
