    Dead Games?

Yeah, I have the same problem from time to time. My VCS is pretty beat-up so if a game doesn't work and I get a screen like yours, I just take it out and try again, or gently wiggle it a bit in the slot trying to get the contacts to hit. For 3rd party carts, I blow air in the cart and try again; it usually works fine. (I actually believe the blowing air part is just supersition, but it rarely fails me)
  2. Shame on you TWIT for your pessimism! I'd like to think we are entering into an Atari Renaissance. I'm amazed at the sudden number of homebrews popping up, and with more people like myself learning (or at least trying to) to program in 6502, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the classic gaming world doesn't continue to grow (just look how quickly this message board has grown, the number of members has doubled in just a couple months!). Its kind of freaky, but considering the amount of talent and resources floating around on this board alone, we could all go in together and start a company entirely devoted to reviving classic gaming and probably have a shot at making it a success. I'd rather find an alternative to destroying common carts (the Combat II/ Pole Position really scares me, that game is hard to find in these parts!), but for now, I think Pac-Man and Combat, hell even Night Driver, can take the hit, UNTIL there is a better option. Stan
  3. WOW! And this is for 2600? YOU MUST FINISH THIS GAME! Look at it! Its super cool. Stan
  4. yeah, sadly right now, that's all I have for my VCS is the genesis controller. Chasing a joystick controller Stan
  5. Another great looking homebrew! I declare an official Atari Renaissance! Put me down right now for an advance copy! (Unless your looking for more than like 25 bucks) It is a great time for Atari fans! Great looking work Ben! Rock on! Happy Stan
  6. It looks really cool. I have no knowledge of Odyssey, but your screen shot looks great.

I wish I had gone to your high school, Nateo! At my school the kids who made fun of us freaks were the popular kids and everybody loved them. Don't worry though, karma is a great thing. Now I make a very comfortable living, and the star running back on the football team digs ditches for the county. Not bitter, just justified, Stan
  8. Video Olympics is cool and all, but I feel cheated by the name. They should have called it PONG Olympics. Still its a pretty cool game. Video Stan
  9. Hmmmmm Coincidence? Fate? Scandal? Snider-man? Suspicious Stan

    ET hole irony

So let's bring the irony full circle. When people go and try to dig up the "lost" ET carts, it will be way too much trouble getting them out of the landfill hole, therefore they will get frustrated and give up on digging them out. Ironic Stan
  11. Ben you are KILLING me, here! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I love it! I had Sneek N Peek when I was a kid and even then I knew it was pretty lame. It was fun to hide under the house! Sneek n' Stan

    Many Thanks

Nice to have you aboard Junie (you too Fretwobbler)! This site is great and I think you'll find that everybody here is totally cool and we all share a love for old school games. This is the best Atari resource and the best online community I have ever found.
  13. Decathlon and Super Challenge Baseball are the two that give me the most joy. The sound of that bat cracking is totally cool, Lemmi. Stan of all Sorts
  14. Alright, Lemmi, keep your tongue in. I have heard people mulling about on this board about how some games play differently on the jr. I just don't know enough to relay the info.
  15. Sounds like a common thing. Could be that when some of the labels were printed the image was off set a little and caused the variation. By the way, my Pac-Man cart has the top of the pellet. Stan, available in several varieties!
  16. Nope. You take turns throwing clowns at the balloons. There is no real head-to-head mode in Circus Atari, but there is a game where both players attack the same set of balloons. That really stirs the pot. Big Top Stan
  17. yeah but there is more to it than just that. And there are people here who know a LOT more than I do about the diff. Hopefully one of them will answer your ????
  18. Is it Riddle of the Sphinx from Imagic?
  19. No. But sadly after only a couple of levels the game loses interest and just shuts off with NO chance of restarting (we hope!) Stan Spice
  20. I was looking for some good two-player games for my girlfriend and myself (and seeing as to how I only have one working joystick I was limited to paddle games) and I picked up Warlords (of course) but I also grabbed Circus Atari. I wasn't really expecting much from this game (the screenshots weren't impressive), but hey, its the circus. ANYWAY. After playing it a few times I soon discovered that this game is a blast! It gets really addictive and is a challenge from the very start! And to think, it only set me back $1.95. Atari just keeps on surprising me! Circus Stan

    Aww...

Reason #17 why e-bay is a tool of evil. Down with e-bay, Stan
  22. For me its Pitfall II hands down. Simply due to the great memories I have of playing it with my dad. There are a lot of other games that bring back old memories and feelings, but none compare to this one. Its one of the main reasons I got back into collecting again this time around. Flashback Stan
  23. Um. Jess, you are scaring the children. We may need to schedule an intervention. Stan
  24. ssshhhhhh. remember Jess, we agreed never to bring those early days up again. shhhhhhh Maybe you get that Jag tomorrow? Wishful thinking! Secret Stan
