For me the jungle is hard and you can forget about the castle. Never got a single "friend" in there. I've got some high scores though. Anybody know what that dark blob that appears from time to time is? If you shoot it, it smooshes and is gone. Its on just about every level. Stanbow

Ok. The extra men look a lot like the little piles of garbage that are supposed to be rocks or something. They are yellow in color and look like a two-pronged fork, with the forks pointing down. ( I) (I I) (Ignore the parentheses, and it sort of looks like the thing above) There is one per level and you really have to be watching for it. Just catch it on your ship and you will pick up the extra life. Beamrider is lost of fun! Beamy Bopper Stan

Funny that you posted this, I was about to do the same. I picked up Crossbow just last week, and only because it was a red label cart and the label art looked cool. I had never heard of it before. Nevertheless, i gave it a try and found it to be totally addictive. With the variety of levels, original concept, choose your own adventure elements, and solid graphics, this game is one of my current favs. And if you get to the castle, it gets REALLY hard. Crossbow is a great game. Don't shoot me! Stan

They sell new Atari T's in my local comic shop (The Zone) here in KY. The one I got last month is all black with a white logo and name. I love it.

I can't even kill the first guy in DD for the 2600. I just threw MY hands up and said "I just don't know." But I did really really love DDII for the NES. It was the best of the NES DD in my opinion. Shadow Lord Stan

I thought we settled the whole " " thing.

Um. Lemmi. You didn't write anything. Are you interested inhis game or what? You know I'm interested, 70's. Doesn't exactly mean I have $40 liquid to lay down on it right now, but I'm interested.

Activision still makes great games these days. And I bet if you tried to revive any of the others you'd find that somebody owns the rights.

Zeptari, you must be careful. Shooting tears out of your eyes could put somebody's......uh....eyes out. Nevermind. Stan 409 (now with County Wildflowers scent!)

Yeah, I'm looking for a "wild" AtariJr myself. And while you're in the giving mood, Malix, I'll take a Jungle Hunt cart in my stocking this year instead of coal. Naughty and Nice Stan

Yeah, its really cool how the administrators are just regular guys crazy about gaming and have just as much fun as we do. They aren't just faceless names attached to the words "moderated by." Gives this place a really personal feel! I love it!

Malix, I do's me best. Hey, 70's. Why not just start a new post as a poll. And the count the number of yea and nay posts in response? The people here at Atariage are probably the ones you are most likely targeting. Right? It would be easy for everyone to see and easy to vote.

Yeah. I gotta have the actual cart. Heck I was collecting carts before I even had a VCS. There's just something about those little (usually) black almost square carts. I really like the artwork on a lot of them too (like Outlaw, the game is so-so but the art on the cart is super cool!) Cuttle or no, I gotta have my carts!

You gotta do it for the love of it first, and the money last. That's the only way to go. I say finish the project for yourself, and if some people like it then BONUS. The experience you will gain will make your next project all the better. Don't get discouraged if nobody is breaking down the door to get a copy of your game. This is your FIRST attempt at this. No one really knows what you are capable of at this point. You can toot your horn as loud as you want, but until people can see your game in motion and experience it, the interest isn't going to just "be" there. You do very well to create a buzz for your game, but right now you haven't a product to back it up. I think everyone here is in your corner, hoping that you do produce and excellent game, that is after all why we are all here, to play cool games and keep the hobby alive. The game I am working on is mostly just for me. If it ever gets finished (or re-started for that matter, I've been busy with work) I'll drop the ROM to Atariage so people can try it, but mostly its just for me to see if I can do this and do it to my satisfaction. As I keep telling you, you're doing good work, keep it up. If you build it, they will come. Field of Stans

BAH! I must get those fruit flies. I have to do something with all this fruit! Fruitful Stan

sure....that's the reason.....

I suppose those who like Episode I are simply overlooking the midi-chlorians (who cares if I spelled it right?), the horrible acting attempt by the kid, the bad japanese accents on the Nimodians, Jar Jar Binks, the very distracting announcer during the Podrace, the list goes on. Granted the race itself was really cool and the lightsaber stuff was priceless. But the rest? Anyway, that's my beef, and totally off topic. I'd rather see a third party type Atari development company than the farce at Infogames. So why don't you, Atari-Jess, start your own development co? Strike out on your own, Stan

Gah! I just shipped Atari-Jess's Jag this morning! They better not toast it or there will be one VERY disgruntled Stan outside the post office with a really big stick. I'd imagine considering all the electonics that go through the US MAIL that they would have safeguards, or they would quickly owe a lot of people a lot of $$$$. Somewhat nervous Stan

I think he's talking about Scorched Earth! That game was a total gas. I loved that thing and played the crap out of it on PC until it developed a virus. I still have the disk and the stupid virus is lurking somewhere in there too. One day I'm going to erradicate that damn thing so I can play again. Scorched Stan

Ok. Let's take a poll. Who thinks Atari-Jess is just a big perv trying to cover? Hee Hee! Just kidding Jess! You always seem so defensive on this topic, the jokes just write themselves! Atari Jess isn't really a perv (right?)- Stan
-
That is a sweet Warlords machine!
-
HA! Good one scooterb23! You really had me going on that one! HA! You liked Pac-man but not Adventure! Hee! What a wicked sense of humor.... what? You weren't kidding? Really? Oh. You asked for it, Stan

Where's the most unusual place you purchased a new game?
StanJr replied to cvga's topic in Atari 2600
Hey, any chance that Big Lots still has some old Atari stuff cluttering its aisles? -
So how much is officially finished? Sounds like you must be 80% or better. Any initial playtesting done yet?

I'll tell ya where it doesn't work, StellaX and PCAE. Stupid Ewoks were dumb in the movie anyway, Stan.
