    2600 Cheats?

Thanks Nukey, I think I even have the first one bookmarked. I'm trying to find something that describes these codes in more "plain" language. Something like "INC: increases value of register." Most I have been fairly well able to "decode" but there are a good many that I have no real clue what they do. I apologize for the broken language of my last post. I had a brief moment of idiocy. Would a public Library have a copy of that Apple Manual?

  3. Yeah, no big on the arms thing. Just goofin' with ya. In shots 2 and 3, what I meant was where in the game are you? In a house? In a room in a house? All I see is grey. How do you find carts? Do you just stumble over them or can you spot them? Is there a strategy to finding rare vs. common or is it just luck? If steps are part of the score, how are you going to divide them back up for the ratings? (points/steps?) Barrel of Questions, Stan
  4. I was hoping you were serious. I love monkeys. There should really be more monkeys. Monkey Business Stan
  5. Nice, but a couple of questions. Where are you in shots 2 and 3? And what is going on there? Why doesn't your little guy have arms? Is that a real score in shot 1? If so, why is the score equal to the steps? You're doing some great stuff. Feel free to contact me via email anytime. I'd love to help as much as I can, despite the fact that I know nothing about the programming aspect. I can help with gameplay and such. I can also ask a lot of annoying questions (although you probably already know that) Helping Hand Stan

    POLL

I don't know about all that Yahoo nonsense, but I'm going to cast my vote right here. I am interesting in your game, atari70's. I would have no real way to play it unless I can run it on my PC, but I am interested in the game nonetheless. Stuffing the ballot box, Stan

    2600 Cheats?

I'd like to state for the record that Nukey Shay is scary smart. Dude, you were over my head by the time we got to $EA. Then again, I'm just starting to learn what all those codes (INC, LDA, SED, etc)mean. Speaking of which, is there a handy list of them and their functions somewhere? I'll compiling a list as they learn, but It'd be nice to have a reference..... Rookie Programmer, Stan
  8. Thanks for the link, JohnnyWC. It looks a little familiar, but I don't recall the NES version having all those pretty colors.
  9. As best I remember, after level 30 their are no new levels in HERO, but they start to cycle randomly, or something like that. There is no "FINISH" that I know of (somebody else will trump me on this, I'm sure) HERO is one of my fav games too. I love it. I thought the Avatar thing was very ironic. The very game you sought stared back at you from your avatar the whole time...... As for "Spellunker" I'm trying to remember what it was like. Oddly enough, I think I remember the cart had a pruple label with orange text and a dude in a cave. But I can't place the exact game play or visualize a screenshot.
  10. Ah yes, but doesn't nostalgia come from the heart? (I mean technically nostalgia is like everything else, its a chemical reaction stimulated by electrical activity in the brain. but it falls in to the "emotion" category, and not the "Logic" catergory, right?)
  11. Is there anyway to indicate which controller each game uses in the game's listing without having to pull up that game's page? The ability to list by controller would be ideal, but that's probably tougher to do. Could an icon be added next to the title or something? Would this be better as an entirely seperate page specifically for controller types? Maybe this already exists and I haven't found it yet. I'd be interested to see just how many games use the keypad, or how many require more than one joystick. I'd also be interested in the ratio of joystick games to other controller games.

    I Won!

I wanna win too. How can I win? I'm a driver, I'm a winner, things are going to change I can feel it. Stan
  13. Kind of glad that failed. Crash and I had a love/hate relationship. I loved the commercials (that cat in that suit was obnoxious as you could get), but hated the game and overall concept. I for one, do not really pay much attention to mascots, but when they start to damage a company's rep, then it bugs me. San Diego Chicken, Stan
  14. Ok. I just didn't want it to be too easy to run up the score with something like a warp. As long as it takes more than 300 steps to get to a warp, you should be ok. You'd have to really waste a lot of time going back and forth from warp to warp to jack your rating that way. (At least 150 times) Keep up the good work!
  15. Hey, it could be fun. I'll give it a try.
  16. right, but that's what I did too.. Suppose I do nothing but find a warp and step in and out of it 12 times. 12 steps 12 (warps) x15 =180 180/12 gives me a rating of 15.00 Add a few extra steps to get to the warp 20 steps 12 warps x15 =180 180/20= a rating of 9.00 I can run up my rating and score just by finding a single warp and traveling in and out of it countless times. The points per warp vs. the steps in and out are an uneven ratio. I accrue 15 pts for a maximum 2 steps. This always gives me a minimum rating of 7.5. Or am I still missing something?
  17. A total echo of what Elvis8atari just said. This is the absolute total best. And Atariage is the best forum for anything Atari. And this message board is the best online community of people I ever been a part of. Everything is coming up Atari and life is good, Stan
  18. Then Towering Inferno is the game for you. I used to love that game as a kid.
  19. Its so totally HERO. Hello Bogie323, nice to have you. By the way, Bogie reminded me of something. Does anybody remember a game called "Spellunker" for NES?
  20. So, if you get points for using warps, what keeps me from running up my score and rating by simply stepping in and out of the same warp spot over and over. 1 step warp =15 1 step warp =15 1 step warp =15 45/3 =15.00 I already have a better rating than you have on your scale and I didn't even pick up a cart. Even factoring in 2 steps 45/6 = 7.50 The warps alone give me a huge score. Am I missing something?
  21. Thanks! You guys are always on top of everything!
  22. Hey Lemmi, could you please fill the brain up with the knowledge of how to read Latin the next time you have it. I could use that. E Pluribus Stanum
  23. Slim pickin's here in KY. The rarest thing I have seen is Mario Bros. (no copyright silver). My day will come, somebody around here has to have a Quadrun or something in their garage.

    I Won!

It is a toss up between Secret Quest and HERO, like Cross(I can't make that little double "S" like you do)bow said. I like all the things Cross(see above)bow said about Secret Quest, but HERO has a lot of replay value for me. I especially like the random level option. Tough call, don't know that I would pick.
  25. Dragonfire is the most fun for me. I also like Atlantis quite a bit, its not a real complex game, but I like the screen layout and it good simple fun. Riddle of the Sphinx has recently caught my eye. Worst of the bunch for me is probably Demon Attack, its just too much like Phoenix, and I played Phoenix first. I never really got into Cosmic Ark, but it may be good. Surprisingly Imagic has made some really cool titles. Trick Shot, I mean an Atari POOL game? Wow!
